Have you ever just looked at a piece of patterned paper and had an idea pop into your head? That’s what happened yesterday as I was looking through the Hello, Irresistible 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I love the combination of colours used in this pack, especially since Pretty Peacock is one of them. In fact I was torn between two designs on the same sheet. On one side was an elegant plaid pattern, while on the other, a moody watercolour wash. Moody won in the end.

IRRESISTIBLE 6″ x 6″
Having chosen my patterned paper I decided to make this another of my 6×6 designs. These use a 6″ x 6″ piece of paper to decorate the front and inside of a card, along with the envelope. This means that these layouts can be used with both 6″ x 6″ and 12″ x 12″ packs of paper.
So with my moody 6″ x 6″ sheet on hand I started by cutting off a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece. Next, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the DSP onto the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then I simply trimmed off the excess with Paper Snips, using the edge of the flap as a guide.
From there I cut a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ strip of paper along with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. Using liquid glue once more, I fixed the paper down the right-hand edge of the card and set it aside.
By this point I had decided that my A2 card base should be Pretty Peacock too. So after cutting and scoring the card, I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I glued the Basic White layer on the inside.
That left me with half a sheet of the Hello, Irresistible paper, so I trimmed that down to 3″ x 5-1/2″ and cut a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Basic White Card. After gluing the DSP down the centre of the card layer, I mounted the assembled piece onto my card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
RAINY DAYS
We’ve had a whole week of rainy days and that DSP pattern had made me think of the Playing in the Rain Stamp Set. I began by stamping the rabbit, the separate puddle and the umbrella onto some Basic White Card using Basic Gray ink. Then I coloured the images using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.

I used light and dark Pool Party for the puddle with light and dark Blackberry Bliss on his coat. Then I swapped to dark Petal Pink for his nose, ears and the umbrella. In fact after waiting a minute for the colour to dry I added a little more dark Petal Pink to parts of the umbrella.
From there it all came together quite quickly. I found the coordinating dies in the Playing in the Rain Dies set and cut out my stamped images. Then I fixed the puddle to my card front with liquid glue, followed by the rabbit and umbrella with pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For my sentiment I went back to the Playing in the Rain Stamp Set and chose “Rainy days are better with you”. Using Basic Gray ink I stamped the sentiment onto some Basic White Card. Then in the Timeless Arrangements Dies I found a decorative rectangle die that was the perfect size. Once I’d die-cut the sentiment I added it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally I finished off with a few Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels and my rain inspired card was complete.
