Keep A Small Card Handy

Yesterday was fun, I attended a local craft fair and met some lovely people. I’m always grateful when I’m able to see and hear people’s reactions to my projects. I only decided to attend this event towards the end of last week so it’s all been a bit of a rush. So while I catch up on a few postponed tasks at home, here’s a Simple Sunday design for a small card.

SMALL CARD AND ENVELOPE

Instead of creating my own card base I decided to use one of the pre-made ones from Stampin’ Up!. I went with a Whisper White small card and envelope from their Memories & More range. At 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″, these cards are designed to perfectly fit the smaller cards from their Memories & More printed card packs. But of course they’re perfect to keep handy for other things too.

I started by folding the small card along the pre-scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.

Next I used some Stampin’ Sponge to add a little Old Olive ink along the bottom of the small card on the front, and on the inside. Then I did the same to the front of the matching envelope.

Next using Soft Suede ink I stamped the grazing horses image from the Let It Ride Stamp Set on the front and inside of the card.

On the front of the envelope I stamped the whole image over towards the right, and then just the front horse on the left.

Finally I wrapped some Linen Thread around the card front and tied it in a simple bow.

And that was it. Job done.

I really like these Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. As well as these small cards, there are large cards and envelopes that are 4-1/4″ x 6-1/4″.

In the 2019 Occasions Catalogue you’ll also find the Happiness Blooms Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. Available in the large and small card sizes, these are Night of Navy on the outside and Whisper White on the inside.

If you’re looking for something a little fancier, how about cards and envelopes with foil edging? You might not have realised that the Gold Foil-Edged Cards and Envelopes and Silver Foil-Edged Cards and Envelopes are still available. These cards when folded are 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, so standard A2 size.
