Every year I look forward to early January. A new year brings new opportunities and the promise of spring, eventually. It also brings the biggest promotion on the Stampin’ Up! calendar, Sale-A-Bration. For the uninitiated, simply buy anything from Stampin’ Up! and earn exclusive products for free! One of the first Sale-A-Bration stamp sets that caught my eye was Lasting Lily. I knew it would be perfect for a simple Sunday project.

SIMPLE TWO-STEP STAMPING
I love making simple sympathy cards and I knew the Lasting Lily Stamp Set would be perfect for this.
I began with a layer of Whisper White Card and using Old Olive ink stamped the larger of the two flower stalks. Then I added the long leaf to the bottom of the stem.
Next, using Daffodil Delight ink I stamped the large flower head at the top of the stem. Being made of see-through photopolymer it was really simple to line up the image.
Finally using Flirty Flamingo ink I stamped the ‘with sympathy’ sentiment just below the curve of the leaf.
SIMPLE LAYERS
Keeping the assembly of the card simple, I began by attaching the stamped layer to a layer of Old Olive Card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next I wrapped a length of Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon around the layers and secured the ends on the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Then I took a shorter length of ribbon and with a simple knot, tied it around the longer piece.

For the card base I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. The assembled layers were attached to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
FINISHING TOUCHES
To complete the project I went back to the Lasting Lily Stamp Set.
On the right-hand side of a layer of Whisper White Card I stamped the stem with the attached leaf using Old Olive Ink. Next I added the smaller lily flower head with Daffodil Delight ink.
Then I stamped ‘may the constant love of caring friends bring you comfort and peace’ using Flirty Flamingo ink. Finally the completed layer was fixed inside the card base using liquid glue.
Only the Whisper White Medium Envelope was left. Once I’d stamped a matching smaller lily stalk and flower head on the front I was done.
LASTING LILY STAMP SET
The Lasting Lily Stamp Set is made of photopolymer, and contains 16 stamps. There are 6 images and 10 sentiments designed to be used on the front and inside of a card. This is also a DistINKtive stamp set, which means you can get amazing shading and detail with just one stamp and ink pad.

This exclusive stamp set is only available for free during Sale-A-Bration (January 3rd to March 31st). It will not be available for purchase and like all exclusive Sale-A-Bration products, can only be earned.
During Sale-A-Bration for every $60 spent in a single order (before shipping and taxes) you can choose a free item from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. There are also two higher value items that can be chosen with a $120 purchase. The Lasting Lily Stamp Set is one of these. A set of 9 Framelits dies that will coordinate with a new stamp set in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue is the other.
There are no limits on how many Sale-A-Bration items you can earn, so if you spend $180 in one order you could choose three $60 rewards, or one $120 and one $60 reward. You can also keep earning and choosing. Every time you place an order that qualifies, you can choose free items.
I’ve already sent Sale-A-Bration Brochures to my customers, and I’ll also put a link to the online version here on my website on January 3rd. I know you’re going to love the choices this year.

What a beautiful card, Tracy! Such a gorgeous stamp set and so lovely to see the “sunny” yellow colour for the lily, after so many wintery, Christmasy colours. It is a pleasing change. The sentiments in this stamp set are a wonderful variety also. I predict this is going to be a runaway favourite this Sale-a-Bration event. TFS!
Thank you Geraldine. At first glance I saw this set as being for sympathy cards, but as I actually read and thought about the sentiments I realised that it has so many more uses. Like you I think this will be a very popular set, if not the most popular of all the 2019 Sale-A-Bration stamp sets.
