Once upon a time I never fussy cut anything. Then as time went on I’d cut shapes or simple images when I had no punch or die to do it for me. Now I find myself reaching for my Paper Snips more and more often. When I started today’s project I fully intended to have my stamped heart on a simple square layer. However, as so often happens, when I began to put the project together another option popped into my head.

TEXTURED BACKGROUND
I began my project by creating the card base and textured background.
Using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
I wanted an interesting background but not too busy so I reached for the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder next. On the inside of the embossing folder I gently swiped a Petal Pink ink pad. Then I placed a layer of Whisper White Card on top of the ink and closed the folder. After running it through my machine my card was textured but with the ink pressed into the design.
With that done I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to mount the background onto a layer of Mint Macaron Card. This in turn was glued onto the front of my card base.
TOUCHED MY HEART
Now the background was done I was ready to work on the images and sentiment for my card. For these I pulled out the Touched My Heart (Host) Stamp Set and a Mint Macaron ink pad.
On a strip of Whisper White Card I first stamped the “Love you most” sentiment. Then with liquid glue I mounted it onto a strip of Mint Macaron Card. Finally using Stampin’ Dimensionals I added the assembled sentiment to my card base.
The rest of the project design centred around the leafy heart image.

First I cut a layer of Whisper White Card and stamped part of the image in the bottom right and top left corners. There was enough of the image to give a leafy interest but the heart shape wasn’t obvious. Then using liquid glue I fixed the layer on the inside of the card. Although I liked the layer I felt it needed a touch more colour. So I used a light Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends marker to colour in one half of each leaf, while using the dark one to colour the colour half.
My Whisper White Medium Envelope was decorated in the same way with the partial image across two corners and then coloured with the Stampin’ Blends.
That just left the main image for the front of the card to do.
This time I stamped the whole heart image onto a piece of Whisper White Card with Mint Macaron ink. As before I coloured the leaves using my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. It was at this point that I decided to cut out the image using my Paper Snips. Then once I’d done that I added it to the textured background with liquid glue. With that my project was complete.
