It’s Monday. Again. We’ve woken up to a couple of inches of snow that I wasn’t aware was forecast. Now it’s turned to rain and road conditions will be horrible until the snowplows get out there. I suppose we’ve got off quite lucky with the weather so far, but as we head into the second half of winter it will likely get worse. Meanwhile we have Valentine’s Day to look forward to. So today I couldn’t resist using the Friendly Gnomes Stamp Set to make this sweet “love you” project.

FRIENDLY GNOMES AGAIN
I loved the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set that retired recently and the Friendly Gnomes Stamp Set is just as cute. I began by choosing the gnome holding a large heart and stamped him onto Thick Basic White Card using Blushing Bride ink. Then on some more scraps I stamped the heart and hand holding it twice more.
Next using a light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends alcohol marker I coloured in the gnome’s hat and clothes. Then I added some shading on the hat with the dark Balmy Blue before using it to coloured over the clothes again. After that I used light Flirty Flamingo on his nose and all the hands . Finally, to cut out my gnome I used the coordinating die from the Gnomes Dies set, and set him aside.
Turning to the additional hearts stamped onto Thick Basic White scraps I coloured one using light Poppy Parade, with some dark Poppy Parade to add some dimension.
Now I just needed to cut the coloured heart and hand from one scrap piece, and just the hand from the other. Then I layered the separate hand on top of the one holding the heart with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow), before gluing the assembled coloured heart and hands onto the die-cut gnome image.
TAG BASE
For my tag base I used the #3 flat topped die from the Tailor Made Tags Dies (counting from the smallest up). First I cut one tag from Thick Basic White Card. Then in the free Dainty Flowers 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I found a sheet with a watercolour wash pattern. I chose an atrea of the papter that was a light green and used the same tag die to cut it out. Finally from the scrap of DSP I also managed to cut two darker green hole reinforcement pieces using another die from the same set,

All I had to do now was glue the two tag pieces together and add a reinforcement to each side of the hole. Then I attached the assembled gnome with Stampin’ Dimensionals. With him in place I could now see the area I had left for my sentiment. So from the Friendly Gnomes Stamp Set I chose “Love you” and stamped it using Mossy Meadow ink.
Finally I tied some white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack to the tag and my project was complete.
