This week the What Will You Stamp Challenge is WWYS223 – Love You To Pieces. It’s a fun set with puzzle images and sentiments and it coordinates with the Puzzle Pieces Dies. Of course that’s a bit obvious for me, so I thought I’d make something different for my Design Team project.
Today I chose the chrysanthemum image from the Love You To Pieces Stamp Set. I had a feeling that the curve of the stem would work well as a circular image and I wasn’t wrong.

I began with a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Card and using a pencil and ruler I lightly marked the card into four equal squares. Then I placed the card on my Stamparatus with the flower stamp in one of the squares. I picked up the stamp with the Stamparatus plate and inked it up with Tuxedo Black ink and stamped.
Then I rotated the card, inked and stamped the image into the next square, and repeated the process twice more.
For my sentiment I went to the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set for the Happy Birthday stamp. I found that there was just enough room to stamp it in the centre of the design.
SIMPLE COLOURING
Now I had the stamping done, I decided to colour the flowers very simply using just two Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. For the leaves I went with light Granny Apple Green. Then for the flower petals I chose light Highland Heather.
I opted not to worry about shading and blending but did leave some teeny tiny areas of the petals uncoloured to add some highlights.

FINISHING TOUCHES
Now the main part of the project was done, I used the oval hole option on my Detailed Trio Punch to punch in the centre of one of the sides. At last I was finished with the pencil lines, and carefully erased them.
For the back of the tag I began by punching a hole in the centre of one edge of a 3″ x 3″ piece of Highland Heather Card.
Now I was finally ready to cut out my tag and chose the Layering Circle Dies for this. The stamped piece was cut using the #7 plain-edged die (counting from the smallest up). Then for the border I chose the #7 scalloped edge die and used it to cut the Highland Heather Card.
Next I layered the two pieces together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow), lining up the holes. Then to finish, I threaded some Gorgeous Grape 1/4″ Mini Striped Ribbon through the tag and tied it in a simple knot.
I’m so pleased with how this birthday tag turned out. It’s the first time I’ve tried to create a wreath-style design on my Stamparatus and I think it worked well. It just goes to show you don’t always need fancy templates to do this.
LOVE YOU TO PIECES

You’ll find more inspiring projects using the Love You To Pieces Stamp Set over on the What Will You Stamp? blog today.
We’d love you to join our challenge and show us your ideas for projects using this stamp set. Don’t forget it doesn’t have to be a card, just use at least one stamp from the set on your new project.
Once you’ve created your project, upload a photo to the challenge gallery for WWYS223 – Love You To Pieces so we can all see it. At the end of the challenge we’ll randomly select one person to be our weekly winner. They’ll get bragging rights, a winner’s badge for their social media and an invitation to be our Guest Designer two week’s later. It might even be you!
