Oh my goodness, what a stressful morning I’ve had. The internet has been cutting in and out for hours and so I’d better make this quick. Today’s Simple Sunday project is a striking birthday card with a Glimmer Paper accent.

MAGNOLIA LANE
I started with this stunning design from the Magnolia Lane 12″ x 12″ Designed Series Paper (DSP) pack.
First I cut a layer and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach it to a Thick Very Vanilla Card base.
Next I cut a 1″ strip of the DSP and glued it down the right-hand edge of a layer of Very Vanilla Card. Then I fixed this layer inside the card base with liquid glue.
Finally I glued some DSP to the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. Then using the flap as a guide I cut the DSP to shape with my Paper Snips.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
That just left the “happy birthday” sentiment from the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set. So using Mossy Meadow ink I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Very Vanilla Card.
Then I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount the sentiment onto a layer of Gold Glimmer Paper. Finally I used more Dimensionals to fix the assembled sentiment to the front of my card and I was done.
Phew, #simplestamping doesn’t have to be stressful, just add a little Glimmer Paper. If only sorting out my internet was as easy.
PROJECT LIST
UPDATE 2020: Sadly the following products have retired and are no longer available from Stampin’ Up!
- Magnolia Lane 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper
- Gold Glimmer Paper
- Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set
Just shows how it’s still possible, even when in a hurry, and when you have the right materials at hand, it’s possible to put together a beautiful card and you’ve sacrificed nothing at all in overall quality. It’s lovely, Tracy. Hope the rest of your day proves less stressful too, and that you’re managing to keep comfortable in that formidable heat!
Thank you Geraldine
