Did you realise the Stampin’ Up! 2022/2023 Annual Catalogue is nearing its end? Not immediately, but it’s getting to that time of year when things may start to sell out. So I decided to pull out some products that are available but I think will be retired. Today’s project is a sweet card and envelope to use when leaving servers their tips. It features one of the Thanks & Hello Embossing Folders, the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies and Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set. All are on my ‘at risk’ list.

MINI ENVELOPE
Before I got to the various thanks sentiments I actually started by making the mini envelope. I chose my paper from the Texture Chic 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. After cutting a 4-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ piece I cut it out using the largest die from the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies. Then I folded the DSP along the ‘scored’ lines (indented by the die) and fixed the tabs in place with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Next, from the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set I chose “Thank you for everything”. Then using Coastal Cabana ink I stamped it onto a 1-1/2″ x 3″ piece of Basic White Card. However when I picked up the scalloped rectangle die from the Mini Pocket Envelopes set I realised my sentiment was too large. So I went back to the stamp set for the “Little card, big thanks” sentiment instead.
That was much better. This time after stamping the sentiment I was able to cut it out with the die. Then I added a little Coastal Cabana ink around the edges with a Blending Brush, before adding the sentiment to the front of my mini envelope using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally I chose the Coastal Canaba twine from the Three Twine Combo Pack and tied a small bow. Then with a little Tear & Tape Adhesive I fixed the bow onto the sentiment.
EMBOSSED THANKS
I’ll be honest and say that it was only at this point that I seriously thought about adding a little card. However the sentiment on the envelope sort of decided that for me. So I cut a 4″ x 3-1/2″ piece of Coastal Cabana Card, and with the long side at the top scored it at 2″. Then after folding it along the scored line, I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
I’d thought about putting my original stamped sentiment on the front of the mini card however it was all a bit plain. I considered stamping some kind of image over the card front but then I had another idea. Why not emboss the whole card front using the Thanks Embossing Folder? So that’s what I did.

Then to make the embossing stand out a bit more I added a little Coastal Cabana ink over the surface with a Blending Brush.
Of course I still had that original sentiment left. So instead of discarding it I fixed it inside the mini card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). And just like that my mini card and envelope were complete.
I’d always thought that the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies were just designed to be a gift card holder. However with this new mini card idea I think I’ll be using it a whole lot more. What do you think?
