So today I have some good news and some bad news. First the bad… The All About Autumn Designer Series Paper (DSP) that has been wildly popular over the past few months has sold out again. However no more stock is expected and so this item is now officially discontinued. The good news for DSP lovers is the Meandering Meadows 6” x 6” DSP pack is available starting today. I’m sure this will also be very popular so don’t be surprised if it goes in and out of stock too.

MEANDERING SCENES

I simply adore the hand-painted scenes in the Meandering Meadows DSP and decided they’d make great everyday notecards. Here’s just one of the set I made today.

I began by folding a Very Vanilla Notecard along the prescored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I chose one of the pretty designs of DSP with a larger area of sky towards the top.

Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the top of the sheet to the flap of the notecard envelope. Then I trimmed off the excess with my Paper Snips, using the edge of the flap as a guide.

Picking up the remaining part of the sheet I trimmed a 1″ strip off the right-hand side. Then I measured from the bottom of that strip and cut it at 3-1/4″. Using liquid glue once more I attached this small strip on the right-hand side inside the notecard.

I still had the main part of the scene and so measuring from the bottom I cut it to 3″ high. Now this piece was 3″ x 5″ and I glued that to the front of the notecard up against the fold. For some extra interest I then tied some Linen Thread around the card front 1/2″ from the fold line and tied it in a simple bow.

Finally I chose the “just a note” sentiment from the Happy Labels Stamp Set. Using Shaded Spruce ink I stamped it onto the strip of the notecard base that was still visible. And just like that my notecard was done. All I had to do now was choose some other sheets from the pack and make few more.
