Yesterday for my Simple Sunday project I altered a dreamy design from the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and made it quite graphic. Today for my What Will You Stamp? Challenge Design Team project I went back to the same paper pack. This time though I chose one of the gorgeous printed vellum sheets for challenge #WWYS204. I suppose you could say it was ‘meant to be’.

A SIMPLE START
I began my project with some Thick Whisper White Card, cut and scored using my Stampin’ Trimmer. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next from the Floral Romance 12″ x 12″ Specialty DSP I chose the vellum sheet printed with a Petal Pink lace design. I cut the vellum to cover the whole of the card front and then attached it with Mini Glue Dots hidden behind the printed areas.
For the main panel I cut a wide strip of Shimmery White Card. The die I used to cut the edge could very easily be overlooked as it’s part of the Stitched Be Mine Dies. In one pass I added the scalloped edge and faux stitching to one of the long edges using my die-cutting machine and magnetic plate. Then I reset the die and cut the other long edge.
LOVE MY LETTER DIES
Now it was time for the love, and a stamp set and dies I don’t use nearly enough on cards. Just in time I remembered to cover the back of a piece of Blushing Bride Card with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. Then I could begin the next stage.
I used Blushing Bride ink to stamp the letters L, V and E from the Letters for You Stamp Set onto some Blushing Bride card. Then using my machine and magnetic plate I cut out the letters with the coordinating dies from the Large Letters Dies.
Instead of using the letter O, I decided to replace it with a heart, but not just any heart. I used the fancy heart die from the Stitched Be Mine Dies to cut out some Blushing Bride Card.
Now I could peel off the backing from the die-cut pieces and attach them to the Shimmery White layer. Once I’d done this I added the completed layer to the front of the card base.

SUBTLE STAMPING
Now I was ready for a little stamping. I wanted something subtle but contrasting and chose Gray Granite ink.
First I chose the ‘I love our life together’ sentiment from the Meant To Be Stamp Set. I stamped this onto a scrap of Shimmery White Card and set it aside.
Next, in the centre near the bottom of a layer of Whisper White Card I stamped the long flower image. Then I fixed this piece inside the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Finally I stamped the same long flower image towards the bottom of the flap on a Whisper White Medium Envelope.
FINISHING TOUCHES
Just a few finishing touches were needed.
First I used the #1 oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies (counting from the smallest up) to cut out the sentiment.
Then using a dark Real Red Stampin’ Blends alcohol marker I coloured in a small heart from the Heart Epoxy Droplets. I left it for a minute to dry and then attached the self-adhesive heart to the sentiment.
To complete the project all I attached the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
#WWYS204 MEANT TO BE

I created my project as part of the What Will You Stamp? challenge Design Team for #WWYS204. Make sure you check out the projects from other members of the team over on our blog.
Once you’ve taken a look, we’d love you to join our challenge. Simply create a new project using at least one image from the Meant To Be Stamp Set. It doesn’t have to be a card, just whatever you’d like to make. Then upload it to our challenge gallery for #WWYS204 so we can see it.
At the end of the challenge we’ll randomly choose 1 person to be our winner. They’ll get bragging rights and a winner’s badge to display on their social media. More importantly the winner will also receive an invitation to join us as our Guest Designer two weeks later.
I couldn’t resist the Meant to Be Stamp Set that’s the focus of the What Will You Stamp? challenge this week. There’s a good mix of large and small sentiments and images and the coordinating Be Mine Stitched Framelits made it even better.
You might want to check out my earlier blog post Adapted Black Magic Technique where I also used the Meant To Be Stamp Set.
