A couple of weeks ago I created a wedding gift card holder using the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies. At the time I promised that I’d be creating some short videos showing you the ten dies in the set and how to use them. Today I have the first in that series. I thought it made most sense to start with the largest die which makes the actual pocket. Of course, having made the gift card holder I had to decorate it and used two more dies from this great set.

MAKING THE POCKET
In today’s video you’ll see me making two pockets. The first is plain and simple using Parakeet Party Card. For the second one I use some of the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is part of a free bundle available during the Sale-A-Bration promotion. I also show you a pocket I’d made before filming started which I’d embossed using the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. I’ll do a separate video showing the process for making an embossed one in a week or so. But the key thing to remember is that for each pocket I used a 4-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of card or paper.
BIRTHDAY FINISHING TOUCHES
Once filming had finished I decided to turn the floral pocket into a birthday gift card holder. So I went looking for a compact but pretty “happy birthday” sentiment. I found exactly what I needed in the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set.
First, using VersaMark ink, I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Thick Basic White Card. Then I sprinkled the sticky ink with black powder from the Stampin’ Emboss Powder Basics set. After tapping off the excess, I removed a few stray specks and then melted the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
Next I went back and cut out the sentiment using the small oval die with faux stitching detail from the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies set. I considered using one of the other ‘label’ dies in the set to create a contrasting mat but instead opted for the small leafy die. So I found a scrap of Pear Pizzazz Card and die-cut the leaves three times.

All I had to do then was attach the leaves to the back of the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals then add it to the front of the pocket. With that my project was complete.
I have to say I love how this turned out especially since I had no plan in mind when I cut and assembled the pocket. It makes me want to make a whole bunch of them to just grab and decorate when I need one in a hurry. It might be a great way to use up some of my favourite paper scraps too. What do you think?

PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set in a bundle with the Very Best Trio Punch (not used today). Using the single ‘bundle’ item number to order meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle below in case you want to explore that option.
SALE-A-BRATION – The Wonderful World DSP and Wonderful World Stamp Set (not used today) is only available to customers until August 31st (while stocks last). However, like all products in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure these are not available to buy, but can be earned for free simply by placing a qualifying order. Sadly the stamp set and DSP cannot be chosen separately. However to get the bundle simply place an order for $120 of products (before shipping and taxes) and then select it when prompted during the checkout process. For this reason you’ll find this at the end of my product links.
