Can you believe it’s December tomorrow? I’ve no idea where November went. Once again I’ve got to the end of the month before I got to the end of my to do list. I’m going to make a concerted effort to be productive today so my blog post will be a quick one. I have been experimenting in my studio and ended up with this card featuring more modern Christmas colours.

SIMPLE BASE
I began by cutting and scoring some Thick Very Vanilla Card to make my card base. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next I pulled out the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and embossed a piece of Petal Pink Card. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the embossed piece to a layer of Crumb Cake Card. Then I glued the layers onto the card base.
Finally I stamped the large tree slice image from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set onto Very Vanilla Card using Crumb Cake ink. Then I cut it out using Paper Snips and added that to the embossed layer.
PEACEFUL BOUGHS
Now the background was set I could get on with the focal point of my card using the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set.

First I stamped the “Seasons Greetings” sentiment with Call Me Clover ink. Then using Paper Snips I cut around the sentiment and set it aside.
Next I used Soft Suede ink to stamp two small pine cones onto some Very Vanilla Card. I cut these out using the coordinating dies from the Beautiful Boughs Dies set. Then while I was there I also cut out three small pine branches from Call Me Clover Card.
To add some depth to the branches I then used some Stampin’ Sponge to tap some Call Me Clover ink onto them. It’s a subtle effect but really changes the look of the pieces.
With that done I used liquid glue to fix the branches on my card front followed by one of the pine cones. The second pine cone and sentiment were then added using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
That just left the inside of the card and envelope to do. For this I went back to the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set and Call Me Clover ink pad.
In the top right corner of a layer of Very Vanilla Card I stamped the small pine branch. I stamped the same branch in the centre of the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope. Then with Soft Suede ink I stamped a small pine cone hanging from each of the branches.
Finally I used liquid glue to fix the Very Vanilla Layer inside the card base and my project was complete.
CHRISTMAS COLOURS INSPIRATION
I must admit that when I think of “Christmas colours” I generally think of red and green. So the Petal Pink is quite a departure. But having made the card I quite like the softer, almost dusty look the change from red to pink gave me.
You may not think they’re particularly festive Christmas colours but perhaps they’ll inspire you on a different project.

So that’s me for today, I’m off to tackle that list, with maybe a little crafting as a reward.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set and coordinating Beautiful Boughs Dies using the single bundle item number. This meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying the two items separately. I’ve included both options in the list below so you can explore these further if you wish.
