Every time a new catalogue comes out I always say I won’t get any more flower sets. However there’s always room for an exception, right? That’s what happened when I saw the large Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set. That huge flower was like nothing else I had in my stash, so onto my wishlist it went. The only thing I felt was missing was a proper ‘thank you’ sentiment (not just thanks). Happy birthday would have been useful too in that gorgeous script. Well it seems like I wasn’t the only one who thought that. Enter Magnolia Blooms.
The Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set is not in the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue. It’s one of a small number of ‘extra’ stamp sets that can be found in the new Experience Creativity Brochure. This brochure is aimed at beginner stampers who might find the main 212 page annual catalogue a little overwhelming. That said, it’s also a great extension set if you have Good Morning Magnolia. Today however I’ve used just this new set to create an elegant thank you card.

GLORIOUS IN GOLD
Although my planned layout was to be very simple, I wanted this to be a special thank you card.
I began by wiping a layer of Very Vanilla Card with an Embossing Buddy to remove any oils and static from the surface of the card. Then I used VersaMark ink to stamp the larger flower image from the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set in the bottom left corner. After that I stamped the ‘thank you’ sentiment in the top right corner, also with VersaMark ink.
I sprinkled the sticky ink with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess, then removed a few stray specks. With that done I melted the rest of the embossing powder using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).

SIMPLE LAYERS
This card was all about the gold embossing so I kept the rest of the card very simple, starting with a card base of Thick Very Vanilla Card.
I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to mount my embossed layer onto a layer of Purple Posy Card. Then I attached the assembled layers to the front of the card base.
On another layer of Very Vanilla Card I stamped the smaller flower from the set in the bottom right corner using Soft Suede ink. Then I fixed this layer inside the card.
Finally I stamped the same small flower onto the centre of the flap of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope and my project was complete.
MAGNOLIA BLOOMS AND MORE
As well as the Magnolia Blooms Stamp Set there are three other new stamp sets that you won’t find in the main catalogue.
The Experience Creativity Brochure is designed for beginner stampers who have little or no experience, and don’t want to spend a huge amount just to make a few cards. That said, it’s a brochure that I think lots of other stampers would like to take a look at. After all, with four brand new stamp sets not found in the annual catalogue, you might just find the one to fill that gap in your stamping arsenal. I know I did.
If you prefer you can also get the Experience Creativity Brochure in French.
