Tuesday is when Stampin’ Up! gives Demonstrators updates and advance information, and today they announced a wonderful new promotion. From June 1st to 30th selected Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs will be on sale at 15% off! From the Annual Catalogue it’s the packs on pages 129 to 132, plus the Hello, Irresistible DSP from the Online Exclusives range. But before I start planning my order for June 1st, here’s today’s card project. It uses the Wonderful Thoughts and Bird’s Eye View Stamp Sets, along with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.

WONDERFUL TEXTURE
I began by choosing my sentiment from the Wonderful Thougfhts Stamp Set, “I’ll listen to your silence when words are just too much”. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped towards the bottom right corner of a 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ piece of Basic White Card.
Then from the Bird’s Eye View Stamp Set I chose the branch and triple leaf images. After stamping the branch across the top of the Basic White layer I stamped the leaves three times. Then I coloured them in very simply using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. For the branch I used Pecan Pie, drawing a dark line along the bottom of the branch and adding the lighter colour above. For the leaves I chose Granny Apple Green and coloured one half of each leaf with the dark marker, and the other half with the light one.
Once the colouring was complete I decided it needed a little extra detail. So I embossed the layer using the gorgeous Timber 3D Embossing Folder. It added just the right amount of interest without distracting from the stamping.
Next I decided to use the branch and leaves as my coordinating feature on the envelope and inside of the card. So I stamped them across the bottom of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card as well as a Basic White Medium Envelope. Then I coloured the images to match the branch and leaves on my original layer.
QUICK ASSEMBLY
With the stamping and colouring complete I was ready to strart putting everything together.

First using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored some Thick Basic White Card for my A2 card base. After folding the card along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the larger of the two Basic White layers on the inside.
Next, I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Pecan Pie Card and mounted the embossed layer on top with liquid glue. Finally I added the assembled piece to the front of the card base and my project was complete.
I have to say I love the simplicity of this card design which keeps the emphasis on the sentiment. What do you think?
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – The Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set is available by itself, or with coordinating dies (not used today) as part of the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle. What’s really interesting is that 14 of the dies are designed to cut neatly around the 14 sentiments in the stamp set. Plus there’s five other decorative dies. However if you want both items you’ll save 10% if you order them using the single ‘bundle’ item number. I’ve included links to both options below so you can compare these if you wish.
