Just two days ago I mentioned in my blog that the retiring list was coming out next week and it was time to stock up on Designer Series Paper (DSP). But even I was shocked when I saw late yesterday evening that the Feels Like Frost and Brightly Gleaming DSP packs are no longer available. Sales of these DSP packs have been phenomenal and there simply isn’t enough time to get more before the end of the catalogue period. It’s sad but it happens, just like I predicted.
Thankfully I made today’s project using the Let It Snow 12″ x 12″ Specialty DSP.

AN OPEN TOP GIFT BAG
Continuing with my bags and boxes video series, I have a simple open top gift bag for you today.
Instead of trying to explain the process I created this video for you.
The size of the bag I made in the video is 4″ wide by 7″ high by 1-3/4″ deep. The optional fold-over section to reinforce the top is 1-1/2″.
To make this bag I cut my Let It Snow Specialty DSP to 10-1/4″ x 12″.
With the long side at the top I scored at 4″, 5-3/4″, 9-3/4″ and 11-1/2″. Then with the short side at the top I scored at 1-3/4″ for the bottom tabs, and at 8-3/4″ to create the fold-over piece.
As I promised in the video, here’s a neater version of my diagram. You can use this to work out the cutting and scoring for any size open top gift bag you need.

LET IT SNOW & OTHER DSP
The Let It Snow Specialty DSP I used for my bag is is currently out of stock. However I checked this morning and more supplies should be received in the warehouse next week. But how long it will last is anyone’s guess.
At the moment with the exception of this and the two that are already sold out, all the remaining DSP packs in the 2019 Holiday Catalogue are in stock but time is running out. Please, if you want DSP order it now, I’d hate for you to be disappointed.
