Today has been busy so far and I have no doubt that it will stay that way for a few more hours yet. The Stampin’ Up! January to June Mini Catalogue is now live for customers, Sale-A-Bration has started, and there’s a new joining offer. I’ve begun updating everything on my website and Facebook page and I’m determined to have it all done by midday. In the meantime take a look at this sweet baby congratulations gift tag I made using the new Treasures of Life Stamp Set.

FOLDED TAG
I began by making a simple folded tag base from Smoky Slate Card. After cutting and scoring the card I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.
Next using the Detailed Trio Punch I punched a hole on the back close to the crease. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed a 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ piece of Whisper White Card on the inside of the tag.
With that done I threaded some Whisper White Baker’s Twine (from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack) through the hole and tied it in a simple knot.
Turning to the front of the tag I glued on a 2-13/16″ x 2-13/16″ layer of So Saffron Card. Then I set it aside while I worked on the main front panel.
TREASURES OF LIFE
I couldn’t resist the new Treasures Of Life Stamp Set with it’s combination of beautifully drawn images and sentiments.
Today I started by choosing the image of a mother/grandmother holding a baby. Then using Smoky Slate ink I stamped the image onto a 2-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ piece of Whisper White Card.

I wanted to colour the image, but in a very subtle way, so I opted for watercolor pencils but without the water. In the end I used the Early Espresso and Daffodil Delight pencils from the original Watercolor Pencils set. Then from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 set I used Flirty Flamingo and Crushed Curry.
Once the colouring was complete I was ready to add my sentiment “Congratulations on your newest little treasure”. First I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink. Then I sprinkled it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess. After removing a few stray specks I melted the rest using my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
Now all I had left to do was mount the completed piece onto the tag front and my project was finished.
