Although I’ve had new products for a while, I’ve been holding off showing any sneak peeks until today. That’s because I hate to get you all excited about something you can’t yet buy. But now it’s only 2 weeks until the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue goes live, and I think you can cope. So for my first sneak peek I’ve created a fun gift tag with a “no peeking” sentiment.

NO PEEKING ELFIE
#Elfie is the name of the new stamp set, and in my studio it’s also the name of this guy. I began by inking up the elf image using Tuxedo Black ink. Then I put some sellotape over the sentiment so I could stamp just him onto Very Vanilla Card.
Next I removed the sellotape and reinked the bottom section of the stamp. This time I put sellotape over the top part of the image so I could stamp just the “no peeking” sentiment onto a separate strip of Very Vanilla Card.
All the stamping was done and I then set to work colouring Elfie using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. First I chose Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green light and dark combos for Elfie’s clothes. Then I coloured his hair and face using Mango Melody and Petal Pink light and dark combos.
OVAL TAG
For the gift tag I turned to the Layering Ovals Dies. Counting from the smallest up I used the #4 plain-edged die to cut out Elfie. Then I used the #6 plain-edged die to cut some Gold Foil Sheet and Very Vanilla Card.
I set the Very Vanilla Card aside while I used the #4 die again, this time to cut a hole in the gold oval. Finally I cut some Cherry Cobbler Card with the #7 plain-edged die.
In no time at all I was ready to put it all together.

First I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the gold frame onto the Cherry Cobbler piece. Then I glued Elfie inside the frame.
Turning the tag over I used some Tear & Tape Adhesive to attach the ends of some new Real Red 1/8″ Curly Ribbon to the back. Then the curly ribbon was sandwiched between the Cherry Cobbler tag and the Very Vanilla oval using liquid glue.
That just left the sentiment and I used Paper Snips to cut a small V at each end of the strip. Next I added a curve to the strip by gently pulling it between my thumb and a Bone Folder. I made it so the ends of the strip curved up while the middle curved in the opposite direction. Then I placed a Stampin’ Dimensional in the centre and a little liquid glue at the ends and attached the sentiment to the tag.
As Elfie had been really good with the no peeking rule, I rewarded him with a large Pearl Basic Jewel on the end of his hat.
