Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in the UK. This time last year I bet you never thought you’d be hoping your family loves you enough NOT to visit you today! Social isolation is a tough but necessary stage in the fight against the virus that is sweeping the globe. Maybe you should agree that Mother’s Day hasn’t been cancelled, but rather postponed to as yet undecided date. Meanwhile, for my simple Sunday project I send you and your family forget-me-nots created using the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set.

THOUGHTFUL BLOOMS
When I first got the Thoughtful Blooms Stamp Set I must admit I didn’t see forget-me-nots, but here they are.
I began with a layer of Whisper White Card and a Granny Apple Green ink pad. I chose the four branch image from the set and stamped it all over the card. Then using Balmy Blue ink I stamped the small five-petal flower at the ends of the stalks and in some of the other spaces. Once that was done I mounted the piece onto some Balmy Blue Card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
On another layer of Whisper White Card I stamped part of the same leafy branch across the top left and bottom right corners. Then I added a few Balmy Blue flowers there too. This piece would be used to line the inside of my card base.
Finally I stamped the images across the top left and bottom right corners on the front of a Whisper White Medium Envelope.

POSITIVE THOUGHTS
For my sentiment I turned to the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set. First I stamped the sentiment onto some Whisper White Card using Granny Apple Green ink. Then above it I stamped a single small flower in Balmy Blue. With that done I mounted the sentiment onto Balmy Blue Card using liquid glue.
In no time at all I was ready to assemble the card.
I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create a card base.
Next I added the lining piece to the inside of the card with liquid glue.
Finally I attached the layered background with Stampin’ Dimensionals, followed by the layered sentiment. My simple project was complete in under 10 minutes.
OK, for the purists among you the forget-me-nots should have a yellow centre edged with black. But it’s the thought that counts. Right?

Tracy, This is such a beautiful card! I look forward to your inspirational posts. I love your “soft” recognition of the problems our world is facing, as I don’t think we should totally ignore this! Let’s face it – it’s definitely not “ life as usual”. And then your positivity following that recognition is so refreshing. It’s all about balance. Thank you!
Thank you Barb
