After an extremely busy day yesterday I came home late and very tired and pretty much went straight to bed. This morning I awoke thinking I’d have a bit of a lazy day, but now I’m not so sure. Hurricane Dorian is on the move again and back up to a Category 3 hurricane. It’s still hugging the US eastern seaboard but apparently has Nova Scotia in its sights. I’m not going to panic (just yet) but it makes sense to begin preparations for the inevitable bad weather that’s coming our way. Hopefully I’ll still have time to get a few blog posts set up ahead of time, but I know you’ll forgive me if it doesn’t happen. Today though I have a simple Christmas card that’s sure to wow.

SIMPLE START
I began this card by making a card base from Mossy Meadow Card. Then I cut some stunning copper foil paper from the new Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper Pack (DSP) and fixed it to the front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Next in the bottom corner on a layer of Very Vanilla Card I stamped the holly image from the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set using Delicata Celestial Copper ink. Then I set this aside to dry for a minute.
TIP – The new Delicata metallic inks are amazing but do take a little longer to dry than Stampin’ Up!s Classic Stampin’ ink. Once dry however, they are smudge-proof (unlike some other metallic inks I’ve tried).
On the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope I stamped the holly image in the corner and set that aside too.
SIMPLE FINISH
For my sentiment I went back to the Christmas Gleaming Stamp Set and the new Celestial Copper ink I stamped it onto some Very Vanilla Card and set it aside to dry for a minute.
Meanwhile I used liquid glue to fix my stamped Very Vanilla layer inside the card base.

With that done I used the larger punch from the new Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack to punch out the sentiment.
It just fitted inside the body of the ornament shape, however the top didn’t really have any definition. So I pressed the top of the punched shape onto the surface of the Celestial Copper ink pad.
Now my ornament sentiment had a copper top and once I’d attached it to the front of my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I was done.
You’ll find another idea using this stamp set in my earlier blog post Christmas Gleaming sneak peek.
