Did you know that Mother’s Day is not held on the same date around the world? In the UK Mother’s Day is next Sunday (March 19th) and I’m always reminded of stores filled with bunches of bright yellow daffodils. However here in Nova Scotia it’s still way too cold for daffs, or pretty much any kind of flower. So perhaps that’s why Canadians celebrate Mother’s Day in May. Nevertheless for today’s project I decided to create this little favour box using the Celebrating You Stamp Set and Pretty ... VIEW POST

True Elegance
When I first saw the Basics 3D Embossing Folders I just knew I had to have them. The non-directional patterns on these three folders are great for so many different occasions. While I like the floral and deep dotted designs, my absolute favourite has to be the open-weave / crosshatch one. This morning I remembered another way to use embossing folders so inevitably that was the first one I reached for. Using some vellum, and the True Beauty Stamp Set and coordinating dies this simply elegant card ... VIEW POST

Brushstroke Paper
There’s something about pleats that I find really elegant. Not that I like ironing them though! When I was very much younger, long ‘sun-ray’ pleated skirts were all the rage. I had a lovely one, although I can’t remember now what colour it was. The narrow pleats made the skirt swing beautifully when I walked. But, eventually it needed to be washed and that’s when the trouble started. Each individual pleat had to be ironed in place and I was rubbish at that. Pleating paper however is definitely ... Starry Sky
Yesterday’s gift tag was a fun exploration of a new die set, but all those little pieces for the floral decoration were quite fiddly. So for today’s card I decided it might be a good idea to keep things much simpler. In the Enjoy The Journey 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack I’d noticed a beautiful starry sky scene and kept being drawn back to it. This would be the coordinating feature for my project, all I needed was the Hope & Prayer Stamp Set and some ribbon. STARRY ... VIEW POST

Something Fancy
One of my favourite things as a crafter is experimenting with the products I buy. I don’t have an unlimited budget so it’s important for me to get maximum value from every item. When I’m choosing what to spend my money on I’ll see how many different ways I can think of to use them. But even after doing this I’m sometimes surprised. That’s what happened with the Something Fancy Dies. I initially bought them for layering my sentiments which they do nicely, but then I discovered something ... VIEW POST

Thanksgiving Goose?
After yesterday’s wildly colourful project I decided to take things down a notch. It began with an idea to show you some more of the amazing Basics 3D Embossing Folders. These are part of the new Online Exclusives range from Stampin’ Up! that was released on March 1st. If you’ve followed my blog over the past couple of weeks you’ll know that I’ve already shown you the three different embossing folders in the pack. However today with the help of a sweet thanks giving goose here’s an entirely ... VIEW POST
