The hot and humid weather has finally gone and for the past couple of days there’s a definite nip in the air. Here in my little corner of Nova Scotia, autumn is most definitely on the way. I can already see the leaves on the maple trees staring to change colour. So when I sat down to create a project for today’s blog I couldn’t help but reach for the Painted Harvest Stamp Set.
I simply love the flower image in this set which uses the two-step stamping technique. The results are amazing, but it’s the stamp set that does all the work. So I thought I should film the process just to show how easy it is.
PAINTED HARVEST STAMP SET
See, I told you it was easy. As well as the sunflower and long leaves images used on my bookmark, the Painted Harvest Stamp Set has another leaf shape, an acorn, some random dots, and three lovely sentiments. Being made from see-through photopolymer material, lining up the images is straightforward too.
This stamp set is great set for all sorts of autumn projects, and the flower image is actually quite versatile. Today it was a sunflower really because of the colour palette I chose, but it doesn’t have to be. I’ve seen lots of examples of this flower in bright colours and it gives the image a very different look. I’m so glad I added this set to my collection.
SUBTLE DYNAMIC TEXTURED IMPRESSIONS EMBOSSING FOLDER
What a long name for such an unassuming embossing folder! The photo in the Stampin’ Up! 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue really doesn’t do it justice either.
I’m a big fan of this embossing folder, it adds texture and interest to a project without overpowering it. I believe it’s the first time I’ve ever embossed a bookmark but I really love how it turned out.
Here’s a closer look as I don’t think you were able to see the full effect in the video.
Well that’s it from me for today. I believe I have blackberries to pick and then I can retire to my craft studio for some more stamping fun. I hope you’ll visit my blog again tomorrow to see what I create next.
You’ll find more of my projects using the Painted Harvest Stamp Set in these earlier blog posts:
2018 Holiday Catalogue ready to harvest
The coordinating leaf punch used in one of the projects is still available, however the bundle offer has now ended.
Gorgeous! Had to giggle at your mentioning the length of the embossing folder’s name too, but you’re so right! Just LOVE it! and want to use it on so many cards. And of course, this classic beauty — both the stamp set itself and the sunflower! It’s a real keeper and what could be more indicative of the time of year (other than the turning colours of the Maples etc. of course) — it’s happening here too! Beautiful as always, Tracy and thanks for sharing.
Thank you Geraldine. The Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder has to be my all-time favourite.
