It’s the 24th (of August that is) and in four months it will be Christmas Eve. Scary huh? As a papercrafter I know how quickly those months will fly by and how much I need to do before then. So I’m not going to feel too guilty over today’s sneak peek using the new Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set.

SIMPLE BOUGHS
The Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set actually includes three different pine tree boughs. Today I decided to use the smallest and largest ones, as well as the smaller of two pine cones.
First using Soft Suede ink I stamped the pine cone in the top right corner on a layer of Very Vanilla Card. Then with Shaded Spruce ink I stamped the largest bough so the pine cone was hanging from it. The smallest pine bough was stamped in the bottom left corner, again using Shaded Spruce ink. Finally in the centre of the piece I used Soft Suede ink to stamp the Season’s Greetings sentiment.
The needles on the boughs are actually line drawn and very delicate but I decided to colour them in. So I used a Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Marker from the Regals collection to do this.
EXTRA TEXTURE
With the stamping all done I thought some added texture would be nice. I wanted something delicate so reached for the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, something I haven’t used in a while. As I had ink on the card I didn’t mist it with water but simply ran it through my machine, forwards and backwards.

This made a huge difference to the look of the piece but it still needed a little extra. For this I turned to the 3/8″ Gold Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
First I wrapped some of the ribbon around the stamped layer and secured it on the back using Tear & Tape Adhesive. Next I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the layer to a Thick Very Vanilla Card base. To complete the front of the card I tied a small bow with some more of the ribbon then attached it with a little more Tear & Tape Adhesive.
For my project coordination I went back to the small bough and small pine cone images. On a layer of Very Vanilla Card I stamped the pine cone in the top right corner with Soft Suede ink. Then with Shaded Spruce ink I stamped the small pine bough so the pine cone was hanging from it. With that done I fixed the layer inside the card base using liquid glue.
Finally I repeated the small bough and pine cone stamping on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope and I was finished.
PEACEFUL BOUGHS
I really like this new Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set, the images are so detailed. The two sentiments are Christmas themed, but the images could be used for so much more. In fact I have a plan to use one of the sentiments on a non-Christmas project, but you’ll have to wait for that.
Later next week I’ll also show you the Beautiful Boughs Dies that coordinate with the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set. Customers will be able to purchase them separately or as part of a discounted bundle when the 2019 Holiday Catalogue goes live on September 4th.
In the meantime I’ll leave you with a look at the Peaceful Boughs Stamp Set.

It really isn’t too early at all Tracy! Not for those of us who make our own Christmas & Holiday or Seasonal cards. I was just lamenting the days when I traditionally started “next year’s Christmas cards” on New Year’s Day right after Christmas past! Need to get back there somehow. You card is just GORGEOUS! Love the clean lines of it, and the simple beauty! The beautiful ribbon really “finishes” it! TFS and happy crafting w/e!
Thank you Geraldine. I’m already booked into a number of craft fairs so definitely need to get going with my Christmas projects.
This card is stunning! So elegant.
Thank you Cathy
