It’s no secret that I’m happy to mix and match images and sentiments from different stamp sets. In fact I sometimes buy a set precisely because I see a different use for some of the stamps. This was definitely the case with the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set in the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue. With four different tree images included, it’s a very useful set. I’m delighted Peaceful Deer has been carried over to the new Annual Catalogue, and inked it up again for today’s simple Sunday card project.

PEACEFUL SCENE
I began my project with a 4″ x 6″ piece from the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. There are so many different watercolour backgrounds to choose from but I thought this scene was ideal.
Next from the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set I chose three of the four tree images, leaving out the large single tree. Then using Evening Evergreen ink I stamped the trees over the ‘ground’ on my DSP. Finally, to add some coordination I stamped some trees on the front of a Basic White Medium Envelope too.
With the trees done I cut a 3/4″ off the side of the sheet and set it aside for a moment. Taking the larger piece I trimmed 7/8″ off the top to make it 3-1/4″ x 5-1/8″. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I mounted the larger piece onto a 3-3/8″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Soft Succulent Card.
Turning to the 3/4″ strip of DSP I cut that down to 5-1/4″ high. Then I glued the strip down the right-hand edge of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card.
For my card base I used my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Evening Evergreen Card. After folding it along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I glued the assembled Basic White layer on the inside. I followed this by adding the layered scene to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
BEAUTIFUL DIFFERENCE
Now I only had the sentiment to add and for that I pulled out the retiring Timeless Tulips Stamp Set.

I’m definitely going to miss the the sentiments from this set. I’ll be honest and say that they’ve probably seen more ink than the tulips. For today’s card I chose “what a beautiful difference one single life makes” which seemed quite apt for Palm Sunday. So using Evening Evergreen ink again I stamped the sentiment onto some Basic White Card. Then I punched it out using the retiring Tailored Tag Punch.
Finally I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the punched piece and added it to the sunset sky. With that my simple Sunday project was complete.
I love how this card turned out and once again the New Horizons DSP did a lot of the work. The trees from the Peaceful Deer Stamp Set just gave it a different look. I hope you like it.
