Lots of things to do, so I’m thankful today is Sunday and that means a simple project. I was actually a little cold when I woke up this morning and although the day will warm up, winter is on my mind. So when I sat down at my craft table the Penguin Place Stamp Set inevitably popped into my head. This is a two-step stamp set which means the various pieces can be combined to create lots of different scenes. With a little Saran Wrap technique, this was the result.

PENGUIN PLACE PIECES
I began by cutting a 2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Thick Basic White Card. Then using the slot option on the Very Best Trio Punch I punched a hole at one end.
Next from the Penguin Place Stamp Set I chose the sitting penguin image. Using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped it towards the bottom of the card strip. Then I stamped his feet and (forward facing) beak using So Saffron ink.
At this point I decided I wanted to create an icy background effect. To do that I scrunched up some Saran Wrap (cling film) into a loose ball and tapped it onto the surface of a Balmy Blue ink pad. Then I tapped off a little of the ink onto scrap paper before lightly tapping the Saran Wrap onto the bookmark a couple of times. I continued the inking, tapping off and tapping onto the bookmark until I’d filled in around the penguin.
To keep my little penguin warm I needed the hat image from the stamp set and a Poppy Parade ink pad. Lining up the hat with the top of his head was really easy as the set is made from see-through photopolymer.
To finish I cut 6″ of 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon and threaded it through the slot. Then after tying it in a simple knot my cute little bookmark was complete. I hope you like it. Brrrrr.
PRODUCT LIST
BUNDLE BONUS – I bought the Very Best Trio Punch in a bundle with the Very Best Occasions Stamp Set (not used today). Using the single ‘bundle’ item number to order meant I saved 10% off the cost of buying these two products separately. I’ve included a link to the bundle in case you want to explore this option for yourself.
