Like lots of papercrafters I seem to have a permanent ‘wish list’ on the go. Some things like adhesives, basic cardstock and envelopes reappear on a regular basis. Others like stamp sets, tools, patterned papers and embellishments can sit there for a while. Over time I’ll either buy them or change my mind. I keep an eye on stock levels at Stampin’ Up! so I can act and also warn my customers when something is showing low inventory. This is the situation with the Label Me Lovely Punch used today.

PRETTY FLOWERS
In fact I used two punches to create today’s card. But I began with the Flowers Of Friendship Stamp Set and a Tuxedo Black ink pad.
On scraps of Basic White Card I stamped the large single flower twice, and the large single leaf four times. Then I decided to colour the images using Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
Although the pens are designed to blend I just wanted simple areas of solid colour. So for the flower petals I used dark Highland Heather with dark Daffodil Delight at the centre. For the leaves I went with dark Granny Apple Green. Once the images were coloured I punched them all out using the Flowers & Leaves Punch and set the pieces aside.
Next I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Card. I stamped a single large flower in the centre near the top with a leaf either side between the petals. Then I repeated this same design on the flap of a Basic White Medium Envelope. Finally I coloured the images to match the punched pieces.
SECOND PUNCH
For my card base I used my Paper Trimmer to cut and score some Granny Apple Green Card. After folding it along the scored line I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder. Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix the Basic White layer on the inside.

Going back to the stamp set I chose “Thank you for everything” and stamped it onto some Basic White Card. Then I used the Label Me Lovely Punch to cut it out. All I had left to do was use liquid glue to attach the punched leaves before adding the flowers with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally I took a couple of small Daffodil Delight embellishments from the Glossy Dots Assortment and placed them in the centre of the punched flowers. With that my bright and cheerful thank you card was complete.
Although I love die-cutting, using punches is great fun too. Do you have a preference?
