I think the hectic schedule of the past month has finally caught up with me. Why else would I sleep in when I can spend the entire day crafting uninterrupted? They’re forecasting heavy rain so my plan is to spend some quiet time creating lots of new projects for my blog. For the next few days I’ll be bringing you projects using currently available products from Stampin’ Up!. Then, starting on August 30th it will be a week of sneak peeks from the amazing September to December 2023 Mini Catalogue.

QUIET MEADOW
But first to today’s project. I started with the largest of the plain topped dies from the Tailor Made Tags Dies set. Using this die I cut some Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then from a scrap of Pecan Pie Card I die-cut the hole reinforcement pieces.
Now to give the Very Vanilla Card a vintage look I used a Blending Brush to cover both sides of the tag piece with a light layer of Crumb Cake ink. Then I used the brush to add some brighter Pecan Pie ink around the edges.
Next I turned to the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set and chose the tall flower image. Using Pecan Pie ink I stamped the flower on the left side of the tag. Then, still using Pecan Pie ink I used the speckled stamp to add some dots randomly over the tag. After stamping them once I immediately stamped again without reinking the stamp. This gave me some lighter dots and some darker ones. I repeated this process until I was happy with the effect.
With the spots done I needed one last Quiet Meadow stamp, the block of aged text. Using Early Espresso ink I stamped the left side of the text in the bottom right-hand corner of the tag. Then I stamped the right-hand part of the text in the top left.
To finish the tag base I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach the die-cut reinforcement pieces around the hole on the back and front. Then I cut 6″ of Very Vanilla twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. After folding it in half I poked the loop through the hole in the top of the tag. Then I threaded the cut ends through the loop and pulled gently to secure the twine in place.
BEST WISHES
All I needed now was a sentiment and in the end I chose “best wishes” from the Layering Leaves Stamp Set. Using Early Espresso ink I first stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Thick Very Vanilla Card. Then I cut around the words using my Paper Snips. I also decided that I wanted to cut out the area inside the looped letters. However, after doing this with the b I decided it was rather fiddly and left the h as it was.

Next, for some additional texture I cut 8″ of Linen Thread and wrapped it around three fingers to create some loops. Using liquid glue I attached the centre of the loops to the right side of the tag about halfway up. Then I glued the fussy-cut sentiment on top.
Finally I added three Rustic Metallic Adhesive-backed dots and my vintage gift tag was complete.
Vintage isn’t my usual style and I’m really happy with how this tag turned out. Taking the time to fussy-cut around the sentiment was definitely worth it as it allows the detail behind it to be seen. What do you think?
