A couple of days ago Stampin’ Up! revealed the list of products that will be retiring from the August to December Mini Catalogue. Sadly a few of my favourites were on the list, but thankfully not all. So over the next few weeks I’ll be making new projects before some of these retiring products sell out. Today’s simple Sunday project actually uses three items from the Retiring List.

‘TIS THE SEASON FOR RETIRING PRODUCTS
I must be honest and say that I never did get the retiring Cherish The Season Stamp Set with the bell images, or the coordinating Sounds Of The Season Dies. This is even though they could be purchased in the Cherish The Season Bundle at 10% off. But I’ve been wanting to use the pretty bells pattern from the retiring ‘Tis The Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack for a while. Now was my chance.
I began by cutting a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece of the DSP making careful note of the direction of the design. Then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the DSP to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. After using Paper Snips to trim the DSP (using the edge of the flap as a guide), I set the envelope aside.
Next I cut the remaining piece of DSP into two pieces, one 3-3/4″ x 5″, and the other 1″ x 3-3/4″. To add a bright pop of colour I then cut two pieces of Real Red Card, one 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ and the second one 1-1/8″ x 3-7/8″. Then using liquid glue I mounted the DSP pieces onto the card layers.
For my card base I chose Thick Whisper White Card. First, using my Paper Trimmer I cut and scored the card. Then I folded it along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.

With that done I glued the smaller DSP piece down the right-hand side of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Whisper White Card. Then I fixed the assembled layer inside the card base.
WRAPPED IN CHRISTMAS
Turning to the front of the card I began by using liquid glue to attach the large mounted DSP layer. That just left the sentiment for me to do.
The Wrapped In Christmas Stamp Set has to be my favourite from the whole Mini Catalogue and I will be sad to see it go. This stamp set has a lovely variety of sentiments in different sizes and fonts. Today I chose “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” for the focal point on my card.
Instead of using an ink pad for my stamping I decided to use Stampin’ Write Markers so I could make a two colour sentiment. I began with a Real Red marker from the Regals collection and using the brush tip directly on the stamp rubber I coloured the word “wonderful”. Then using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker directly on the stamp rubber I coloured rest of the sentiment. Next, to make sure that the ink was moist I breathed onto the surface of the stamp. Then I stamped down onto a 1-3/8″ x 2-7/8″ piece of Whisper White Card and held it there for a few seconds. When I finally lifted the stamp it revealed my two colour sentiment.

Keeping with the same colour scheme, I used liquid glue to mount the sentiment onto a 1-1/2″ x 3″ layer of Real Red Card. Then I fixed the assembled layer in the centre of my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally I tied a small bow from a length of retiring Real Red 3-1/16″ Braided Linen Trim. I attached it to the corner of the sentiment with a Mini Glue Dot and my simple Christmas card was complete.
