OK I know it’s still August (although not for long), but I couldn’t resist today’s sneak peek project. Anyone who knows me knows I love notebooks and making lists. I’ve discovered that writing down things and ticking them off when they’re done is so satisfying. This is never more true than in the run up to Christmas when I get really busy with craft fairs. So when I saw one particular image in the new Signs of Santa Stamp Set, one project immediately came to mind. I simply had to have Santa’s To Do List.
SANTA’S TO DO LIST
This seasonal project started out as a boring ‘to do’ note pad that I bought in a local Dollarama. While I love list-making and notebooks, that doesn’t mean they can’t be fun. Jazzing up plain pads and books needn’t take a lot of time and effort either. So just to show how easy it can be, here’s a video showing the process. The only thing I did before deciding to video the project was cut the paper for the front cover.
Wasn’t that simple?
Now I with the notepad on my desk, as soon as something Christmas related pops into my head I write it down, and go straight back to what I was originally doing. Then when I actually need to work on something Christmas related, all my ideas and reminders will be in one place. I love having a mechanical pencil attached too so I never have to search for something to write with. I may even add some tabs later to divide the pad into sections. The Circle Tab Punch from Stampin’ Up! will be perfect for that.
Of course it goes without saying that I love the Santa’s Workshop Suite in the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue. The coordination between the stamp set, Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Framelits dies is amazing. The stamp images are great for colouring or simply leaving as line-art, or do what I did and die-cut them straight from the paper.
You can find out more about this suite in my previous blog post Santa’s Workshop opening soon. Products from the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Holiday Catalogue will be available to purchase from September 5th.
So now I’m off to make another sneak peek project for tomorrow’s blog. In the meantime I’ll just leave you with a closer look at Santa’s my to do list.
