Today is the second Monday in October and that means it’s Thanksgiving here in Canada. So my post will be short and sweet with a heartfelt thank you everyone who follows my blog, or supports my business by choosing me as their Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. Some I know personally and some only via the internet, but you are all a blessing in my life.

SIMPLE ‘WASHED’ BOOKMARK
Today I decided make a pretty bookmark with a ‘washed’ style background. This was much easier than you might think, because I cheated.
First I cut a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I chose this beautiful paper from the Snowflake Splendor 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. The sheet actually has some Highland Heather colour on it too but I cut from a mainly Balmy Blue section. After cutting the paper the same size as the card, I fixed them together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow).
Finally to shape the top of the assembled strip I used the Fancy Tag Topper Punch. In no time at all my bookmark base was ready.
YOU’RE A BLESSING
For my “You’re a blessing in my life” sentiment and wheat image I turned to the His Love Stamp Set.

Using VersaMark ink I stamped the wheat sheaf onto the bookmark. Then I stamped the blessing sentiment beside it nestling it into the curve of a leaf. Next I sprinkled the sticky ink with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and tapped off the excess. After removing some stray specks I melted the rest with my Heat Tool set on 2 (high).
All I had left to do was cut some Whisper White 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. Then I threaded the ribbon through the slot before securing it with a simple knot. And with that my blessing bookmark project was complete.
Whatever you’re doing today I hope you’re able to find some time for yourself, and that you’ll join me again tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving. x
