Today I decided it was about time I created a masculine / gender neutral gift tag. I’ve been looking at the tags I’ve created recently and there’s been a lot of flowers, but not today. My gift tag idea started with simple shades of blue and flowed from there.

WHISPER WHITE START
I wanted to keep things fairly simple so started with a 2″ x 4″ piece of Thick Whisper White Card. Then I punched the top using the oval hole option on the Detailed Trio Punch.
Then I turned to the Country Club Twine Combo Pack for some Night of Navy Twine. I cut two 6″ pieces, folded them in half and poked the loops through the hole at the top of the tag. Then I passed the cut ends through the loops and pulled to secure the twine in place.
For the “Lots of Love” sentiment I turned to the Perfectly Framed Stamp Set. Using Night of Navy Ink I stamped it onto a scrap of Thick Whisper White Card.
BLUE TRIO
For the ‘waves’ I chose three different blues from the Stampin’ Up! range: Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Blueberry Bushel.

Scraps of each colour card were cut out using the curved die from the Ornate Frames Dies.
Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) I fixed the various blue pieces onto a strip of scrap card in a striped pattern. Then I glued a couple more pieces of scrap card to the back to add some dimension. With that done I fixed the assembled piece to the tag base.
Finally I cut out the sentiment using the small pierced edge die from the Ornate Frames Dies. Then I added it to the gift tag with a couple of Stampin’ Dimensionals and my project was complete.
I really love how this turned out and the waves of blue give the tag a contemporary feel don’t you think?
