Today I thought it would be fun to play with another new stamp set called Witty-cisms. As you might expect Witty-cisms includes some fun images with puns, which I love. But oddly the first stamp I chose was one that didn’t include a witty sentiment, but it’s cute all the same.

PARISIAN PATTERN
I began with a pretty Pool Party pattern from the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). This particular pattern has no blossoms or French images, just an elegant design.
I started by fixing a piece of the DSP to the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow). Then I trimmed the paper to shape with Paper Snips using the envelope flap as a guide.
Next I created my card base from Pool Party Card stock and stuck a piece of the DSP to the front.
Finally I cut a narrow strip of the paper and glued it down the right-hand edge of a layer of Whisper White Card. Then using more liquid glue I fixed this piece inside the card base.
WITTY-CISMS
With the basic card prepared it was time to pull out the Witty-cisms Stamp Set.

To make the combined “Welcome little one” image and sentiment stand out I used Blueberry Bushel ink to stamp it onto Whisper White Card. Then I coloured it in with Stampin’ Blends combos; Flirty Flamingo for the heart and Pool Party for the baby carriage. Finally, using liquid glue I mounted the image onto a piece of Silver Foil Sheet.
As I went to attach the layered sentiment to the card front I decided that the DSP needed a little more definition. So I glued a strip of Whisper White Card up along the left-hand edge. That really made a difference and I was ready to fix the focal image in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To complete the card I added a line of three Pearl Basic Jewels in the top right corner and I was done.
This card came together so quickly and easily, and shows that the Witty-cisms is more than just a collection of puns. It also shows that you don’t need a whole lot of complicated tools or techniques to create pretty cards.
