Today I have a very quick project for you. I made this during my recent World Card Making Day personal challenge to design and create 24 different cards in 24 hours. This was card number 6 and I used the Sorry for Everything Stamp Set to create a pet sympathy card.
Although I added a dog from Bella & Friends it would work just as well with any other furry animals.
POOR PUPPY
There’s something about this little puppy’s face that seems so sad. It seemed perfect for a pet sympathy card. I stamped the image in the corner of some Very Vanilla Card using Early Espresso ink.
Then I squeezed a closed Soft Suede ink pad so some of the ink was transferred to the inside of the lid. Next I opened up the pad and used a Blender Pen to pick up the ink so I could colour the dog image.
Finally I used a Garden Green and Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker from the Regals collection to colour the collar and tag.
SORRY FOR EVERYTHING
With the dog done I was then able to fit the sentiment into the remaining space on the Very Vanilla piece.
First I used Early Espresso ink to stamp the large ‘sorry’. Then using Soft Suede ink I stamped the other two parts of the sentiment.
Finally I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to attach the completed layer to a piece of Soft Suede Card.
I used my Stampin’ Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card and folded it along the scored line. Then I sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder to create the card base. The assembled layers were fixed to the front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
MORE PUPPIES
I decided to use the puppy image as my coordinating element for this project. So I stamped the image in the bottom right corner of another layer of Very Vanilla Card and on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope.
Then I coloured both images to match the one on the front of the card.
I attached the Very Vanilla layer inside the card base and my project was finished.
SAD DAY
I really like the Sorry For Everything Stamp Set. It’s has the large sorry plus 9 other phrases designed to build sympathy sentiments for lots of different needs. It’s definitely one I’d recommend you add to your collection.
One of the phrases in the set says ‘sorry to see you go’ and that’s apt for today. Later this evening my daughter and granddaughter are flying back home to the UK. It’s been a very short visit for them, but we’ve made the most of the time we’ve had. So now I need to return to my studio where Alyssa is waiting to make Mummy’s Christmas gift.
Whatever you have planned for today, I hope you are able to find some time to be creative today.
Oh my goodness, you’re killing me here Tracy! Sad puppies, daughter and grand-daughter’s last day visiting before they leave … but you’re quite right, Bella does look sad and your card is ….. how can a sympathy card be lovely? but it truly is, and it gives me an inspiration for one that I need to make up now and have in readiness. I know a couple of people with furry kids who are old and ailing and it will be good to have some cards ready for “someday” … maybe sooner than later. It’s always easier somehow to have cards of this type made up ahead, although it doesn’t always work out that way for me. Thanks for the sweet inspiration of the card, and for the motivation to get busy. I’m so into my Snowflake collection right now!
Thank you Geraldine
