Sometimes I spend a lot of time on a project, other times I just need something quick and easy. When that happens I rely less on techniques and tools, and more on the products. Today’s simple Sunday project is a perfect example of that. The patterns in the Flowers For Every Season 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) did all the work. All I had to do was cut and layer the pieces and then add my stamped sentiment.

COLOURFUL FLOWERS
I began this project by choosing a bright and colourful flower design from the Flowers For Every Season DSP.
First I cut a 2-1/4″ x 6″ piece and used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to fix it onto the flap of a Whisper White Medium Envelope. Then with Paper Snips I trimmed off the excess paper using the edge of the flap as a guide.
Next I cut a second piece of the DSP to 2-1/4″ x 4-3/4″. Using more liquid glue I mounted this piece onto a 2-3/8″ x 4-7/8″ layer of Magenta Madness Card.
My final piece of the floral DSP was cut 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ and glued down the right-hand edge of a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of Whisper White Card. Then I added a 1/8″ x 5-1/4″ strip of Magenta Madness Card along the left-hand edge of the DSP. This layer would be used to line my card base but I had a couple more pieces to prepare first.
This time I went looking through the Flowers For Every Season DSP for a design that would coordinate with the flowers but be less busy. In the end I picked out a dotted Just Jade-coloured pattern. Then I cut a piece of this DSP 2″ x 3-1/2″ and used liquid glue to mount it onto a 2-1/8″ x 3-5/8″ layer of Magenta Madness Card.
BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP
My final layer was the sentiment and for this I turned to the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set. I chose “Birthdays are the best days”, and with Magenta Madness ink stamped it onto a 1-7/8″ x 2-1/8″ piece of Whisper White Card.
Then using liquid glue I mounted the sentiment onto a 2″ x 2-1/4″ piece of Magenta Madness Card and added it to my growing pile of layered pieces.
All I needed now was the card base and for this I decided to use Thick Whisper White Card. This would allow the brightly coloured flowers to really stand out. After using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score the card, I folded I along the scored line and sharpened the crease with a Bone Folder.

To assemble my card I first fixed the layered floral piece onto the front of the card base with liquid glue.
Next I added the layered dotted piece over the top using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I fixed the sentiment on top of the dotted layer with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
That just left the assembled Whisper White Layer, so I fixed that inside the card base with liquid glue and my project was complete.
I love the bright and cheerful look of this project. It really is a quick and easy layout and could be adapted to any occasion.
