As I sit down to write today’s blog post it’s 7.20am on Saturday September 7th. The wind has just started to pick up and will increase steadily through the day as Hurricane Dorian approaches. If we still have power in the morning before this post is due to go live I’ll update you on how we fared through the storm. If we don’t have power (which is a real possibility) I’ll update you as soon as I’m able.
So while we ride out the storm here’s a quick Simple Sunday bookmark project with a very apt sentiment.

BELIEVE YOU CAN
As always I began with a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of thick card, in this case Whisper White. Then using Tuxedo Black ink I stamped the scenic sentiment from the Believe You Can (host) Stamp Set.
The scene was simply coloured using an assortment of Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I chose light and dark combos in Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party. Then added a touch of light Poppy Parade and Ivory.
TIP – try experimenting with unusual colour blending – I coloured the path with the light Daffodil Delight and then went over it with Ivory to create this sandy look.

Once I’d finished colouring I punched the top of the strip with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. Then I threaded some Poppy Parade 1/2″ Textured Weave Ribbon through the slot and secured it in place with Mini Glue Dots. Job done.
So that’s all for today, hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow with another new project (power permitting).
PRODUCT LIST
The Believe You Can Stamp Set is a ‘host’ stamp set and so is only available for purchase using Stampin’ Rewards. For this reason you’ll see I’ve placed it at the end of my product list. You can earn Stampin’ Rewards by placing an order of at least $200 (before shipping and taxes) or holding a workshop/party that achieves that level of orders. If you want to know more see pages 204 to 207 of the Stampin’ Up! 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue.
Oh my goodness! I didn’t even check the morning emails, as I was so sure you would be without internet! This is such good news! If anyone would be prepared, it would be you, and what a great little bookmark on this “morning after” — so appropriate!! Hope you’re up and running again very soon!!
Thank you Geraldine. We lost power for 22 hours but today’s post was scheduled in advance so it would go live automatically. Thankfully we only ended up with a few broken branches, but it was a scary time all the same.
