It's Monday! Not my usual response to the beginning of what I know will be a very busy week, but it's going to be fun. My pre-order of new products from the Stampin' Up! 2022/2023 Annual Catalogue arrived on Friday and I've been playing. This means that today I can start my sneak peek series leading right up until next Tuesday when the new catalogue finally goes live. Today’s project highlights a very interesting take on the Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) concept. I think there’ll be ... VIEW POST
Seas The Day (Hopefully)
It seems that this COVID infection for me is currently manifesting as a bad head cold and sore throat. Hopefully it will stay that way and not develop into more severe symptoms. I’ve noticed however that it’s worse in the mornings. Tylenol is helping, although not with the foggy brain. Today is looking better with my new project and blog post done much earlier than yesterday. I even included a little ‘altered die-cut technique’. I love the “seas the day” pun and ... VIEW POST
Tropical Layers Spawned Ric-Rac Trim
One of the fun things about cutting dies and embossing folders is finding new ways to use them. Sometimes I’ll be inspired by something I’ve seen elsewhere. Sometimes it’s noticing interesting shapes formed by pieces discarded on the desk. Today’s project idea came about while I was designing some new cards as part of an article I was writing for Canadian Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. The project involved the Artfully Layered Stamp Set and coordinating Tropical Layers Dies. ... VIEW POST
Quiet Meadow Vintage Style

These are most often found on scrapbook pages but I’ve seen some great examples on cards too. The other style I’m still working on is ‘vintage’. That’s a real challenge for me, but with practice I feel I’m definitely improving. Today’s experiment involved limiting myself to ... VIEW POST
Pretty Pillowbox For Spring
Today the weather is bright and sunny, but frigid. I'm not a cold weather person so winter can’t be over soon enough for me. I feel like a toddler constantly asking "Is it spring yet?" and being repeatedly disappointed. While I wait I've decided it can be spring in my craft studio and hopefully that will keep me going. So this morning I pulled out the Pretty Pillowbox Dies (carried over from the July to December 2021 Mini Catalogue) and decided it was definitely time for the daisies to ... VIEW POST
Peaceful Moments With Blackberry Beauty DSP
After yesterday's Post-It Note® project I wanted to create something much more colourful today. As luck would have it, over the weekend I received an e-mail from the Paper Players with their latest design challenge. Their Color Challenge PP558 included some of my favourite colours that reminded me of the Blackberry Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). So with the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set added to my desk I set to work creating this elegant birthday card. BLACKBERRY BEAUTY ... VIEW POST
