Right now we’re getting very excited as we look forward to our eldest granddaughter spending part of her summer with us without the rest of her family. Lots of things are planned, with rest days factored in. We’ll definitely be doing some shopping and that made me think of gifting her some money. Using the Cracker & Treat Box Dies I created a unique and fun way to do this. While doing that I also thought of a quick and easy way to hold the ends of the cracker closed. QUICK CRACKER I ... Irresistible Idea
Have you ever just looked at a piece of patterned paper and had an idea pop into your head? That’s what happened yesterday as I was looking through the Hello, Irresistible 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I love the combination of colours used in this pack, especially since Pretty Peacock is one of them. In fact I was torn between two designs on the same sheet. On one side was an elegant plaid pattern, while on the other, a moody watercolour wash. Moody won in the end. IRRESISTIBLE ... VIEW POST
Flowers From The Zoo
Often when I make a project featuring flowers the blooms are big and the focus of attention. For today’s card however they are much more subtle. That said, they were definitely the most time-consuming part of the creative process. You see the flowery background is one of the black and white patterns in the Zoo Crew 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. My colour scheme came from another sheet from the DSP pack where the cute alligator is riding a bike with a basket full of pink ... VIEW POST
A Rhino With Stripes
One of the fun things about buying new patterned paper is discovering designs you hadn’t noticed when you placed the order. Take the Let’s Go Fishing 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack for instance. It was pretty obvious that there were lots of fishing themed designs, but as I explored the pack I spotted a gorgeous diagonal stripe. The Pebbled Path colour immediately inspired me to pair it with a sweet rhino image. The result is this elegant gender-neutral birthday card, and there’s not ... VIEW POST
Fishing For Ideas
When Stampin’ Up! announced that selected packs of Designer Series Paper (DSP) would be on sale at 15% during June I was really excited. I definitely wanted Earthen Elegance and Let’s Go Fishing, and jumped at the chance to pay less for them. Sadly UPS decided to take the parcel on a magical mystery tour of Ontario and I eventually received it a week late. The first thing I made with the Let’s Go Fishing DSP was this bookmark, complete with a seasonal sentiment from the Brightest Glow Stamp ... VIEW POST
Another Zany Idea
For the third day in a row the morning has started with thick fog that seems to absorb every sound. Every sound apart of the call of the male pheasant standing in the middle of my front lawn that is! It also feels foggy inside my head and I fear I may be sickening for something. So perhaps I should stay in and relax like this llama from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set. Although joint issues mean I can’t knit anymore, I can still read and create my own bookmarks. ZANY LLAMA I began today's project ... VIEW POST
