While I love bright colours, as some of my recent projects have demonstrated, I also like creating more muted projects. This is especially useful when you have to make a card in a hurry. My recent 24 cards in 24 hours marathon for World Card Making Day was just such an occasion. With the Nature's Harvest Stamp Set in my hand I needed something interesting but quick to put together. This was the result... NATURE'S HARVEST CONEFLOWER There's something about the coneflower in the ... VIEW POST
Nature’s Harvest Coneflowers Again
Now autumn has definitely arrived in Nova Scotia and I'm enjoying watching the amazing transformation in the garden. It's the same when I travel around the area where the farmers get on with their harvest and begin to prepare for winter. So it's hardly surprising that once again I was drawn to autumn colours and the Nature's Harvest Stamp Set. Today my colour palette was all about warm red and orange. ACCIDENTAL COLOURS It may not be obvious from the main photo, but this colour scheme ... VIEW POST
Rediscovering The Sunflowers
Autumn is definitely getting a foothold here in Nova Scotia. As I drove into town yesterday I noticed quite a few trees have started to replace green with bright reds and yellows. While we don't have any fields of sunflowers, somehow when I think of autumn I always think of them. So today I decided that I'd pull out the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and coordinating Sunflowers Dies for this pretty gift tag. CELEBRATE SUNFLOWERS WITH MARKERS Instead of ink pads I thought it would be ... VIEW POST
Nature’s Harvest And Harvest Dies Together
The past few days have been very hot and humid here in Nova Scotia. I shouldn't complain because if past years are anything to go by we could see our first snow in eight or nine weeks. Overnight we were treated to a terrific thunderstorm that went on for almost two hours and today it definitely seems a little cooler. Between the heat and the snow I'm looking forward to autumn. So with that in mind I created this project featuring the Nature's Harvest Stamp Set and coordinating Harvest ... VIEW POST
Autumn Colours And A Squirrel
No change here. It's hot and muggy and typically I'm thinking about cooler weather. Fall isn't far away and a change of decor will be needed in my dining room. So out go the bright flowers and in come the more muted neutral tones of autumn. That means I need to create napkin rings using the Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it... NAPKIN RING I began by making the ring part of my napkin ring. First I cut a 2" x 5" piece of Pale Papaya Card, rolled ... VIEW POST
Squirrels – Another Addition To My Menagerie
It may be August, but there was a definite nip in the air this morning and it won't be long before we see the first signs of autumn. So that means we're likely to notice our resident squirrels and chipmunks as they begin to stock their larders. During last winter we had a couple of squirrels visit our front deck each morning for a few nuts and raisins that we put out for them. I wonder if they'll expect the same breakfast service this year? Today's new product sneak peek is the Nuts About ... VIEW POST
