It appears that our rural internet doesn’t like the heat and keeps cutting out. Sadly there’s not a lot we can do about it except keep our online activities short. So with that in mind I’ve changed the project for today’s blog to something quicker. This means I’ve more chance of completing my blog post and getting it to publish. I created today’s card at the end of a marathon die-cutting session when I was exploring different options for sentiments. Then I thought I should look at my punch ... VIEW POST
Triangles For A Sketch Challenge
Today was another one of those days when I really had no idea what I was going to make. While I was waiting for the kettle to boil I checked my e-mails and found the inspiration I needed. The Paper Players have a sketch challenge this week and I immediately wanted to join in. However instead of using three rectangles as the dominant feature, I decided to switch things up using the retiring Stitched Triangles Dies. With some retiring Designer Series Paper (DSP) close at hand I set to ... VIEW POST
Daisy Punch And Daisy Lane
Oh my what a busy day it was yesterday. The Retiring List of products being discontinued by Stampin’ Up! was revealed, and there’s a lot on there! What’s more there’s discounts of up to 50% on many of them. Popular items will sell out quickly, and I’ve noticed that the 2020/2022 In Color refills are already showing as low inventory. Today’s project uses five retiring items including the Daisy Lane Stamp Set. This is temporarily not-orderable, but the final batch of stamps should be in the ... VIEW POST
Family Pride With Kisses & Hugs
Just a couple of days ago I received the latest Paper Pumpkin kit called Kisses & Hugs. It contained enough supplies to make 10 heart-shaped tri-fold cards, along with an exclusive stamp set and Gray Granite ink spot. As usual I made one of each design and then decided to bring in the One Happy Family Stamp Set. In no time at all I was able to create lots more alternate projects celebrating my amazing family. Here's just one example adding in some coordinating card and an envelope from ... VIEW POST
Peekaboo Farm Animals at Christmas?
A few weeks ago I was challenged to create a project using layout sketch as my inspiration. This was based on the card in the bottom right-hand corner on page 88 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. The original card uses products from the very Christmassy Tidings of Christmas suite so I was determined to make a non-Christmas card. With that in mind I selected the Peekaboo Farm Stamp Set and set to work. It's only now, weeks later, that I'm struck by a certain irony. What could be more ... VIEW POST
Sailing And Sweaters Are Made For Each Other
Happy Labour Day! I had a bit of a lie-in this morning but I wasn't idle. I was actually thinking about what I should make for today's blog. I'd decided that it's been too long since I took part in a design challenge and so my project was inspired by the Just Add Ink Colour Challenge #570. The colours I had to use were Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana and White. I could also add black, vanilla or metallics. The blue combination made me think of sailing, and I already had half an idea in my ... VIEW POST
