It’s the first Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for another IDEAS blog hop. This month our theme is “Christmas Crafting’ and we hope to inspire you to create handmade gifts and cards for those you love. For my contribution I chose the Joy of Noel Stamp Set and coordinating dies and in the IDEAS tutorial bundle there’s a Christmas card and gift card holder. I also made this Christmas card using pretty much all the same products. There’s definitely something about this colour scheme ... VIEW POST
Smiles & Sadness
Today I’m little sad as our granddaughter returns home to the UK after spending 3 weeks with us here in Nova Scotia. We’ve been shopping across the border in Maine, attended a powwow in Truro, and walked on the ocean floor at Wasson Bluff. But the highlight was most definitely whale watching in the Bay of Fundy. That eventful trip brought tears as car trouble nearly scuppered our plans, however the amazing kindness of people we met on Long Island saved the day and restored the smiles to our ... VIEW POST
Playing with Animals Again
After yesterday’s #simplestamping project featuring the llama from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set I was inspired to make a project featuring another animal. This time I reached for the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set and the coordinating dies. I decided to create my own ‘scene’ including texture from the Crosshatch embossing folder (part of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders pack). Then there’s some simple layers using torn and inked card. By the time I was done I had this sweet thank you card with a ... VIEW POST
Dainty Little Stems

Sometimes I like to mix and match floral products, but not today. Today is all about the beautiful shapes of the Dainty Delight Dies. Keeping it simple, I also opted to use only one colour of ink, Pretty Peacock, with just a little white contrast, plus a sentiment courtesy of the Easter Bunny Stamp ... VIEW POST
Embossing With Scraps
Today’s project is the result of another embossing experiment, a rediscovery of something from way back. It all started when I made a gift cracker to hold some paper money. After using the Cracker & Treat Box Dies to cut out the piece for the cracker I was left with some small diamond-shaped scraps. I’ve collected quite a few sets of these diamond shapes from various projects but never actually got around to using them. So today I decided to make something useful that also turned into a ... Wonderful Realisation
This morning got off to a slow start after I woke up with back ache. Fortunately some gentle exercise has resolved it and I can now get on with the rest of my day. First I needed to make a “congratulations” card for a wedding I’ll be attending at the end of the month. I wanted the sentiment to be elegant and so immediately reached for the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set. I’ve used this set a few times, but today I finally realised I should have bought the coordinating dies! DREAMY ... VIEW POST
