Today’s card is another from my personal “24 cards in 24 hours challenge” for World Card Making Day. This was number 15, and the one that I created just before midnight, prior to taking a 5 hour nap. It’s been ages since I’ve used the By My Side Stamp Set and I have no idea why. I really love the three characters, each one with an animal companion by their side. The only issue I have is how skinny their arms and legs are, which makes fussy cutting somewhat challenging. ABSTRACT ... VIEW POST
Another Bird’s Eye View
I’ve just returned from spending time with my daughter and her family in the UK. The twins are now almost 2-1/2 years old and so different from when they visited us in Canada last October. Lots of new memories were made and I’m excited that my eldest granddaughter flew back with me. She’ll be here for 3 weeks and we have lots planned. Like me she loves to read so I made this Harry Potter themed bookmark for her using the Bird’s Eye View Stamp Set and Very Best Trio Punch. EARTHEN ... VIEW POST
IDEAS Blog Hop: Beside Me
It’s the first Wednesday in the month and that means it’s time for another IDEAS Blog Hop. This month our theme is “Holidays”. In crafting circles the holiday that immediately comes to mind is Christmas. But as someone originally from the UK, the word “holidays” is synonymous with vacations. That made me think of the Beside Me Stamp Set with images of adults and children spending quality time together. So I decided to create three coordinating projects, one for my blog and the other two for the ... VIEW POST
Silly Scraps
Although I’ve been making cards etc. for more than ten years, things don’t always go to plan, However that doesn’t mean I throw these ‘mistakes’ away. Most of them are salvageable in some form and it would be silly to waste the work I’d already put in. So that’s how I came across the geese for today’s Simple Sunday card. I’d stamped and coloured them for another project and then dropped my ink pad onto the card! Thankfully it missed the geese, so I cut them out and saved them. SILLY GOOSE ... VIEW POST
Textured Stripes
When I sat down to make today’s masculine birthday card I really had no idea what I was going to do. So I began with my box of A2 card bases that I cut, score and fold in advance to save time. Since having a week where almost all my projects were blue I’ve been consciously avoiding that colour. So instead I selected three random shades of brown; Early Espresso, Pecan Pie and Cajun Craze. What a great combination! The decision to add the embossed stripes came about much later. SHADES OF ... VIEW POST
Another Bird’s Day
After creating lots of blue projects recently it was definitely time to try something else. Stampin’ Up! has fifty colours in their range (plus black, white and Very Vanilla) and I do have favourites. But having selected the Bird’s Eye View Stamp Set I decided to choose some of my less frequently used colours. I knew I wanted the finished card to be bright and cheerful and it certainly is that. The fact that I ended up using two of the three colours that feature bird’s names was totally ... VIEW POST
