Why is it that so many papercrafters say they find making masculine cards the most difficult? I have to admit I used to feel that way too until I developed a sort of blueprint. I’ll often look for a non-flowery paper (or embossing folder), and then stick to simple shapes. But that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Today’s masculine / gender-neutral card is a perfect example of that. After choosing a simple bamboo patterned paper and the Wildflower Path Stamp Set for my ... VIEW POST
Here’s A Sweet Honeybee Idea
Stampin’ Up! is great at coordination and often that comes in the form of suites and discounted bundles. But sometimes I see coordination in other parts of the catalogues and it sparks an idea I simply can’t get out of my head. This was the case with the Honeybee Home Stamp Set, Honeybee Blooms Dies and Hive 3D Embossing Folder. It simply had to be paired with the hexagons in the Beautiful Shapes Dies. Today was the day to bring my Idea to life and I really love the ... VIEW POST
Pretty Pieces Of Pansy Petals
Well it's official. Hubby went out yesterday to start chipping away at the layer of ice on the driveway and measured it at 5-1/4" up in front of the garage. Unfortunately we're not going to see much of a thaw and it could take weeks to shift completely. Meanwhile I've decided that it's not too early for spring in the craft room. So for this morning's simple Sunday project I pulled out my scraps of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP). With a little fussy cutting and the Pansy Patch ... VIEW POST
Symbols Of Fortune For A Pretty Birthday
After making the decision many years ago to blog with a new project every day I've made thousands! Since I started counting I've designed 391 bookmarks, 100 boxes/bags, 224 gift card holders, 248 gift tags plus lots of other projects. Today's card is number 2365. The inspiration, as so often happens, came from patterned paper. This pretty floral design with tiny butterflies is another from the Symbols of Fortune 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. For the birthday ... VIEW POST
Simply Marbleous Satin Paper
Well yesterday was interesting. Hubby was out with the snowblower for more than 5 hours trying to clear our driveway after the snowstorm. While the wind scrubbed some areas, in others we had snowdrifts up to 5 feet deep. The road was just as bad, making for challenging conditions for the snowplow driver. But with the sunshine revealing the patterns carved in the snow by the wind I was reminded of the free Simply Marbleous 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP). So that's what I wanted to ... VIEW POST
Inspired By Swimming Otters
Well today is definitely going to be 'one of those days'. It started out fine, I had an idea for a project and it came together pretty easily. Then I took the photos for my blog and sat down to edit them. And it was here that things started to go awry. My photo editing programme simply wouldn't load and it took several reboots of the computer to get it going again. It's a good job the Awesome Otters Stamp Set is a cute one. Maybe I should just relax like that otter and just go with the ... VIEW POST
