Are you a flowery crafter? I didn’t think I was until I looked back at projects I’ve made so far this year. However those photos don’t lie. Mind you, with so many gorgeous stamp sets, dies and punches in the Stampin’ Up! range it’s not difficult to find something to suit every taste. For today’s Simple Sunday project I turned to the Dainty Delight Stamp Set. I love the finished result and show another way to add ribbon to a gift tag without needing to use a punch or dies. DAINTY STEMS I ... VIEW POST
Decorative Simplicity
With pretty sentiments like those in the Go To Greetings Stamp Set designing a card project can be challenging. If I want the sentiment to stand out I tend to go for much simpler backgrounds and layouts. That might involve a subtle paper pattern. Or I’ve used a plain card background layer with an embossed texture for added interest. Today though I decided to pull out my new Decorative Borders Stamp Set. With a tried and tested navy and white colour scheme this elegant birthday card came together ... VIEW POST
Gnomes Announcement
When I designed this card during my personal “24 cards in 24 hours” challenge I had a feeling that the gnomes' days would be numbered. It’s a great stamp set but typical of those that are only available for a single catalogue. Of course I hoped I was wrong but sadly not., the Kindest Gnomes Stamp Set and Storybook Gnomes paper are both on the retiring list. What isn’t there though is the Gnomes Dies. That’s because there’s a new stamp set with coordinating spring/summer themed gnomes coming very ... VIEW POST
Inspired By Sadness
Yesterday was a momentous day as we learned of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. While we were separated by an ocean, my daughter and I watched the news unfold. Having heard that the Royal Family were all converging on Balmoral Castle in Scotland we knew things were not good. However when the news finally broke it still brought with it a sense of shock. We have never known a world without The Queen. Her selfless sense of duty inspired many and her presence will be sorely ... VIEW POST
Daffodil Project For St David’s Day
Well my day isn't going to plan. I had a very manageable to do list of relatively quick jobs but haven't ticked off much. Now an extra unexpected and more important issue has come up and my day looks very different. So while I get on with that I hope you enjoy the project I created to mark St. David's Day. It's a pretty thank you card using the Daffodil Daydream Stamp Set and coordinating Daffodil Dies from Stampin' Up! There’s also a quick tip for using watercolour pencils ... VIEW POST
Beautiful Shapes For A Modern Wreath
With Christmas nearly a month ago you'd think that wreath designs were a thing of the past (at least for a while). Well to be honest so did I. For today's card project I intended to create something spring-like with flowers and leaves, and I did. However when I pulled out the Beautiful Shapes Dies things took on a life of their own. By the time I was finished my card still had the planned flowers and leaves, but the die-cut hexagon shapes had morphed them into a modern-style ... VIEW POST
