Compared to many Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators I don’t have a huge amount of current products. Still it’s very easy sometimes for me to forget what I do have. So last weekend’s 24 cards in 24 hours marathon was the perfect opportunity to rediscover some old favourites. One of those was the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder used to create this masculine birthday card. In fact I used it to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope flap. But the highlight was seeing it shining in ... VIEW POST
Celebrate With Coordination
Happy Sunday! A few days ago I created a bold birthday card using the O Holy Night 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP). It was a design that used just a 6” x 6” piece of paper to decorate the front and inside of the card, along with the envelope. When I was done I had a few scraps of DSP left over so decided to use the largest of these and the same Celebrate with Tags Stamp Set to create today’s simple Sunday project, a coordinating gift tag. LAYERED FOR SIMPLICITY I began with the ... VIEW POST
O Holy Night For Birthdays
I know customers can get a little frustrated when Stampin’ Up! products go out of stock and can’t be ordered. It frustrates me too! But I’ve been really pleased to see that many of them have come back earlier than expected. The O Holy Night 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) is one of those items and I thought I’d celebrate by making a card. However although the paper is most definitely designed with Christmas in mind, I wanted to demonstrate that it’s also great for birthdays as well. O ... VIEW POST
Metal Plate Texture
One of the lessons I’ve learned over the years with my card designs is to mix it up. Some of my projects are really simple and require no special tools or techniques. However today’s birthday card doesn’t fall into that category. Instead I combined patterned paper, dies and embellishments. I also took a plain Very Vanilla top layer and added tons of interest using the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder. The result is a layout that could be adapted for many different occasions, simply change out the ... VIEW POST
Celebrate With Balloons
And just like that her extended vacation is over and my granddaughter has returned home. The house is quiet now and it’s time to get back into my normal routine. Fortunately the weather was good yesterday and I was able to get all the bedding and towels washed and dried. Now I need to focus on a fall craft fair I’m attending in October. First on my list is a new selection of gender neutral birthday cards. I started with this balloon-themed one using the Celebrate With Tags Stamp Set. I ... VIEW POST
No Fishing
When I first glanced at the Let’s Go Fishing 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue I wasn’t excited. It’s great if you’re a fan of fishing, or know people who are, but that’s definitely not me. Then when Stampin’ Up! had their DSP sale last month I took a closer look. It was only then I realised that while there are a variety of fishing-themed designs, there’s a lot of others that aren’t. Take this pattern that reminds me of denim... LET'S IGNORE ... VIEW POST
