Well it’s November 17th and today is the day we may see our first snow of the 2022/2023 winter season. The temperature has certainly come down a lot from the unseasonably warm weather we’ve been treated to this autumn. So today I thought it would be apt to bring you a snowy Christmas card idea. This was number 12 of the 24 cards I designed and made in a 24 hour period last weekend. My starting off point was the Storybook Gnomes paper which will be retiring all too soon. STORYBOOK ... Florets Coloured and Die-Cut
I’ve been enjoying the unseasonably warm weather this week but today it’s suddenly much colder. Still, I shouldn’t be surprised as it is almost the end of October. At least I can pretend it’s summer indoors with the Framed Florets Stamp Set and coordinating dies. A few days ago I showed you a card using flowers from the limited edition paper. Today’s card however uses just the stamp set and dies to create this pretty celebration card. For my inspiration I used a sketch from the Global Design ... VIEW POST
Elephant Is A Mammal
With all the focus on retiring lists and new catalogues it’s been ages since I’ve joined a design challenge. I like challenges as they often make me think outside the box or encourage me to try new things. This morning I noticed the Just Us Girls Challenge #639. It’s word week, and the word was "mammals". That gave me just the excuse I needed to pull out the Elephant Parade Stamp Set and start colouring. But as I looked for an interesting background, things became a great deal more ... VIEW POST
Brick Texture Adds Interest
Today’s card project comes to you courtesy of another design challenge. This time it was the Hand Stamped Sentiment Color Challenge that inspired me with a combination of three blues. Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point would normally result a sea-themed project, and I have to admit it did cross my mind. However in the end I decided to go with something much more geometric. It was only later that I thought of embossing the background. So that’s when the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing ... VIEW POST
Putting Away The Masks
Yesterday’s project was a bookmark created with the help of a custom mask cut from a Post-It Note®. Today I decided to use a pre-made mask to create a very striking design with black ink on white card. Sadly Stampin’ Up! is retiring the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks, along with the embellishments and punch used today. However this weeks TGIF Challenge gave me the excuse to use them one last time. The result is this gender neutral thank you card that’s perfect for when someone really goes above ... VIEW POST
Triangles For A Sketch Challenge
Today was another one of those days when I really had no idea what I was going to make. While I was waiting for the kettle to boil I checked my e-mails and found the inspiration I needed. The Paper Players have a sketch challenge this week and I immediately wanted to join in. However instead of using three rectangles as the dominant feature, I decided to switch things up using the retiring Stitched Triangles Dies. With some retiring Designer Series Paper (DSP) close at hand I set to ... VIEW POST
