When I think of meadows I usually think of them in the summer. We’re trying to cultivate a natural flower meadow in a large area behind our house but it’s slow going. We started off with a few lupins that grow wild along the roadside. Having rescued the plants from being mowed down they are now well-established and spreading beautifully. We also have other plants springing up that I’ve yet to properly identify. But as autumn takes hold the whole area changes into shades of brown inspiring ... VIEW POST
Using Meadow Dies For A White Silhouette
Ok so I don't really know whether a 'white silhouette' is actually a thing. But if not I've just invented it. One of the things I love about die cut pieces is the variety of ways that they can be used. While the Meadow Dies are available as part of a discounted bundle with the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, they're not designed to cut out the images. I think of them more as complementary products rather than coordinating. That said, I did end up using both parts of the bundle to make today's ... VIEW POST
A Little Vintage Rose And Razzleberry
This morning has been a touch stressful with an internet service that was slower than dial-up. If you're reading this is means that I have finally managed to get my photos uploaded after several hours of trying. Today's project is a card created using the Very Versailles Stamp Set. To give it a vintage feel I chose a simple colour palette of Rococo Rose, Rich Razzleberry, Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla. This was really quick to put together. If only my internet were as fast. Ornate Layers Becomes A Tag Base
Right now my to do list is looking more like a novel and I'm determined to make a real dent in it today. SIMPLE SPONGED BACKGROUND Before I could get to the Ornate Layers Dies I first needed to create the background for my tag. SoI took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Thick Very Vanilla Card and then chose my ink colours. In the end I selected Granny Apple Green, Crushed Curry ... VIEW POST
Vintage – Not My Regular Style
I've been making the most of the recent bad weather and spending time in my studio planning for spring. I love the fresh look of pastel colours and the Subtles family of inks is perfect for this. But every now and then I like to step out of my comfort zone and attempt something a little different. So that's how I ended up making this vintage style card. VINTAGE COLLAGE My project began when I decided to experiment with stamping a collage style background. I cheated a little by ... VIEW POST
Very Versailles Is Very Pretty
I was very late to the party when it come to stamp sets designed to be used 'collage style'. I suppose just didn't understand the odd combination of images, and how they could ever make a nice project. Now of course things are very different, and as soon as I saw the Very Versailles Stamp Set I knew I had to get it. So when I sat down to make today's project I wanted to showcase this very pretty set without bringing in any others. A SIMPLE START Very Versailles actually has a ... VIEW POST
