My regular readers will know that for the past few years I’ve created ‘simple Sunday’ projects. These are easy ideas that require no expensive tools or special techniques. Today’s project using the Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set has actually been on my mind for a while. Unfortunately the few times I’ve attemped it I’ve always been disappointed with the result. So today I decided to give it one last try. Finally it worked, and all I needed was to seek out a very fat paperback book. Tom Clancy to the ... VIEW POST
A Paper Pumpkin Thing: 10 Years Of Growth
It’s the first Friday in the month and that means it’s time for the A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month we’re celebrating ten years of Paper Pumpkin kits with alternate projects using the March 2023 kit. The colour palette used in the aptly named “10 Years Of Growth” kit is absolutely gorgeous and very spring-like. I’ve even created an image using some of these as inspiration for future projects. For my alternate projects I decided to make a card along with a quick and easy gift card ... VIEW POST
Florets Colour Testing
I love it when Stampin’ Up! creates Designer Series Paper (DSP) with images that coordinate with a stamp set and/or dies. It adds extra versatility, and is especially great if you’re not a fan of colouring or fussy-cutting. However one of the downsides for me is that I can get caught in a rut with the colours. So every time I pick up a stamp set like Framed Florets I can’t visualise anything other than the colours used by the DSP designers. That’s where quick experimental projects can be ... VIEW POST
Forever Seeking Inspiration
Do you have 'go to' colour combinations you use over and over again? Petal Pink and Crumb Cake with either Mint Macaron or Soft Sea Foam is one I love. It has a wonderfully soft look that is so pretty. Yesterday I was trying to create a simple three colour combination with a vintage autumn feel. Stamping some different options onto strips of card allows me to keep my favourites close at hand to refer back to. But plans go awry and a simple mistake resulted in a forever favourite. FOREVER ... Autumn Thank You
I’m having so much fun playing with the Fond of Autumn Stamp Set and coordinating Autumn Bouquet Dies. The main image is very large and there’s two different dies depending on how you want to cut it out. One die cuts the image into four parts, and I’ve created projects using some of these sections in earlier blog posts. So today I decided to use the complete image cut out in one piece using the alternative die option. The result is this pretty thank you card in soft autumn colours. SOFT ... VIEW POST
Autumn In The Air
With the year flying by I have some project ideas using pine cones collected from trees at the far end of our property. Unfortunately after ignoring that area for too long the grass is now about two feet tall making getting to the trees a challenge. So rather than wade through on foot I decided to tackle two tasks at once and mow a path through. My subsequent trip around the garden also revealed signs that autumn is on the horizon and it inspired me to create this acorn-decorated ... VIEW POST
