Today's project was already half made when I sat down this morning. You see, when I'm creating I often end up with pieces left over. If it's a stamped image I always keep it with the stamp set for another day. So this morning when I opened up the A Great Man box, out fell a stamped and coloured image. So with a little striped paper from the Come Sail Away pack I had a masculine gift tag in record time. RELAX AND COLOUR The image I found had been stamped onto Whisper White Card using ... VIEW POST
The Direction Of Our Dreams
When the majority of us are sheltering at home while COVID-19 makes it's way around the world, it's time to dream. I don't mean literally fall alseep and dream. I mean dream about places you want to go and people you want to see once the restrictions are lifted. Don't you think this is the perfect time to think about our dreams, even if we can't put a date on them? I do. So while we can't physically do things there's nothing to stop us planning how to make those dreams a ... VIEW POST
Masculine Bookmark (By Customer Request)
Yesterday I spent most of the day at the Fundy Geological Museum in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. It was their annual Christmas Craft Fair and the 6th year I've attended. It was lovely once again to see so many people supporting a wide range of crafters and buying local. I love talking with those that stop by my table and getting their feedback on my creations. One person was specifically looking for a masculine bookmark and I realised that I didn't have a lot for her choose from. So for today's ... VIEW POST
Blue And Brown Colour Scheme
What do you think of when you think of love or Valentine's Day? I suspect hearts are the first things to spring to mind, and most likely a red and white colour scheme. Last weekend when I was racing through my 24 cards in 24 hours for World Card Making Day I did something a little different. I made a Valentine's card in a blue and brown colour scheme, and not a heart in sight. BACKGROUND LAYERS My project started out with the Come Sail Away 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I ... VIEW POST
Embellish With A Single Star
It seems ages since I last designed a masculine card so that was my challenge this morning. I grabbed some patterned paper, a stamp set and dies and set to work. I quite liked how it was going, but in the end it was the addition of a single metal star that made me happy. COME SAIL AWAY I began with the small yacht pattern from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (DSP). After cutting a piece I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue (Tombow) to mount it onto a layer of Whisper White ... VIEW POST
You Me & The Sea
I love notebooks, and as a papercrafter I love decorating them too. Whether it's for a simple list, or to record something more permanent, notebooks are a big part of my life. Big or small, ruled or plain, you can never have enough. My late son Russell obviously took after me as when we went through his things we found lots of notebooks. He was an avid reader and loved to write his own stories, even going so far as to take courses in creative writing. His genre was science fiction, and I ... VIEW POST
