Today’s project marks a huge milestone for me and one I never imagined I reach. This congratulations card is my card design number 2,500. In fact I’ve probably made quite a few more than that as I didn’t start numbering them right away. I have to say that my skills have most definitely improved over the 8 years or so that I’ve been papercrafting. I’m still not sure I have a ‘style’, but this card, using the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set and coordinating Penned Flowers Dies, is definitely a ... VIEW POST
Abigail Rose To The Rescue
My regular readers will know that I’m a list-maker. I suppose I’ve always been like that, however as I get older I find having a to-do list invaluable. That’s not to say I’m not flexible. Sometimes plans need to be changed. Like today. Today I was supposed to be taking part in an international blog hop, but it’s been rescheduled to next week. That meant I needed to create an alternative project for today’s blog post. So I reached for the Abigail Rose suite and designed this pretty card ... VIEW POST
Hand-Penned In New Colours
One of the fun things about having a new set of In Colors added to the Stampin’ Up! range every year is it encourages me to revisit older (but still available) products. Today I decided it was time to break out the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set again. My original plan was simply to stamp one of the larger images and use the two-step stamping technique. However I simply couldn’t resist adding in a little heat embossing, before turning to the coordinating Penned Petals Dies. I’m very pleased with ... VIEW POST
Still The Melody Lingers On
Isn’t it funny how the memory works. Whether it’s particular foods, smells, sights or sounds, they can all be triggers. One of the most common for me is music. My regular followers will know that the Christmas colours of red, gold and green are always accompanied (in my head) by the song “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club. Today the song that’s on repeat is “Congratulations” by Cliff Richard (yes I’m that old). So it made perfect sense to pull out the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder for this ... VIEW POST
Beyond The Box
After some shipping delays caused by a lack of trucks and truckers in Utah, Stampin’ Up! finally received the remaining shipment of March Paper Pumpkin Kits. This was an incredibly frustrating situation for everyone who was still waiting for their box. It didn’t help that the Beyond the Horizon Kit was eagerly anticipated as it coordinates with the New Horizons suite in the mini catalogue. Of course knowing there was a ‘bonus’ stamp set included didn’t hurt either. So now here’s my first ... VIEW POST
Petal Pink Finally Has Me Hooked
When Stampin' Up! refreshed its colour range a couple of years ago I had mixed feelings. Out went some of my favourite colours, but so too did some I wasn't keen on so that balanced it out. Of all the new colours I suppose the one I've struggled with the most is Petal Pink. There was just something about Petal Pink that made me avoid it when designing projects. Perhaps it was because the colour wasn't a proper 'pink'. It took a while, but suddenly I'm in love with Petal Pink. It's still ... VIEW POST
