Usually when I sit down to make a new project I begin with dies or a stamp set that inspires me. However today was quite different as all I had in my mind was a colour, Pale Papaya. This is one of the Stampin’ Up! 2021-2023 In Colors that are due to be retired at the end of April. So with the colour in my head I went looking for something to use it on. That’s when I rediscovered the pretty Cottage Rose Stamp Set and coordinating Cottage Flowers Dies. DELICATE COTTAGE ROSE I began with ... VIEW POST
Inspired By Sadness
Yesterday was a momentous day as we learned of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. While we were separated by an ocean, my daughter and I watched the news unfold. Having heard that the Royal Family were all converging on Balmoral Castle in Scotland we knew things were not good. However when the news finally broke it still brought with it a sense of shock. We have never known a world without The Queen. Her selfless sense of duty inspired many and her presence will be sorely ... VIEW POST
Abigail Rose To The Rescue
My regular readers will know that I’m a list-maker. I suppose I’ve always been like that, however as I get older I find having a to-do list invaluable. That’s not to say I’m not flexible. Sometimes plans need to be changed. Like today. Today I was supposed to be taking part in an international blog hop, but it’s been rescheduled to next week. That meant I needed to create an alternative project for today’s blog post. So I reached for the Abigail Rose suite and designed this pretty card ... VIEW POST
Kraft Bag Inspired
Three weeks ago I showed you an idea for decorating a Kraft bag with a stamped and coloured panel. I loved the simplicity of this idea and thought it would make a great greetings card too. So today before the heat of the day becomes unbearable I decided to give it a try. Despite using the same ink and Stampin’ Blends colours, the Very Vanilla envelope and card liner look quite different to the front panel. But even so I’m delighted with the finished result of this simple Sunday ... VIEW POST
Cottage Rose Surprised Me
When you sit down to make something do you have a fixed plan that you follow? Or do you just start and then see where the products take you? Mostly for me it’s the second option. In fact that’s how I ended up with the striking black and gold gift tag on my blog yesterday. My plan for this project was a simple background and focal point using the Cottage Rose Stamp Set. However when I pulled out the Cottage Flowers Dies they added an extra detail I hadn’t previously considered. COTTAGE ... VIEW POST
Rose So Simple
Happy Sunday everyone! It’s my birthday today and it promises to be a good one. I plan to spend it playing in my craft room while listening to my favourite music. Meanwhile hubby will spoil me by making dinner, and hopefully loading up the dishwasher. To celebrate making it through another year I’m going to send everyone who orders through my online store today a special gift. Perhaps I can tempt you with this simple Sunday project; a panel for a brown bag created using the Cottage Rose Stamp ... VIEW POST
