There was a time when I didn't use much patterned paper. In fact there was a time when I didn't understand why people would 'add cost' by adding layers. But over the years my card making skills have developed and things are quite different now. Today's card, while very simple, is one I would never have made in those early years. It combines plaid and argyle patterns, but by mounting the pieces onto card mats everything seems much more coherent. COUNTRY CLUB PATTERNED PAPER I found ... VIEW POST
And Now For Several Shades Of Grey
Is anyone else ready for a change of seasons? This morning we awoke to another fresh blanket of snow, and once again the colour disappeared from my world. Don't get me wrong, fresh snow is very pretty especially when the sun's out. Sadly though the sun's gone awol. So today's project reflects the view from my window, grey, with an expanse of white and the odd black accent. GREY ARGYLE I began by using my Paper Trimmer to cut and score a piece of Basic Black Card. Then I folded it ... VIEW POST
All You Need Is A Great Big Lovely Punch
Sometimes I get an idea and it just works, straight away, exactly as I imagined. This is what happened this morning when I sat down to ink up the Layered With Kindness Stamp Set for the first time. My plan was to create a gift tag using the large happy birthday sentiment and the coordinating Label Me Lovely Punch. SQUARE FOLDED TAG BASE I began with the tag base, using my Paper Trimmer to cut a piece of Whisper White Card 3" x 6". Then I scored it at 3", folded it along the scored ... VIEW POST
A Project For The Golf Club
I've been having such fun playing with parts of the new Country Club Suite. On previous projects I've used the Clubhouse Stamp Set and Country Club Designer Series Paper. Today though I've brought it all together with the addition of the coordinating Golf Club Dies. CLUBHOUSE STAMPING I started my project with some stamping using the Clubhouse Stamp Set and Thick Whisper White Card. First I used Night of Navy ink to stamp the sentiment "You're the greatest guy by par" twice. Then ... VIEW POST
First Project In The Clubhouse
Often when I get a new stamp set I like to try out the images by making small projects. It might be a #simplestamping card, or a gift tag. Today however my 'test' project is a quick bookmark using the Clubhouse Stamp Set. GOLF I'm not a golfer but I do like to watch some of the championships on TV and can even name a few golfers. I'm often struck by the bright colours worn by the players and for some reason pink shirts come to mind. So with that in my head, I set to work. First ... VIEW POST
Bright And Cheery Birthday
After my flowery thank you card a couple of days ago I thought it was time for a simpler card. So today's project pairs new Designer Series Papers (DSP) with an older but still available stamp set. It might be snowing again outside inside it's bright and cheerful. BRIGHT PATTERN My project began with the argyle / harlequin design from the Country Club 12" x 12" DSP pack. Looking at the colours in the design I decided to use Mint Macaron as my coordinating colour. So I began by ... VIEW POST
